The Bear Pit is a main source of daily news for many people who are not registered and do not look at MSM sources. The Pit is this site's radio tower. It has to be kept on and broadcasting. As for potentially insidious actors, the good old calling out and clowning memes are the proven way to deal with it. We've used that way for decades to deal with commie trolls on TFL (before it became puritan), and ARFCOM. 99% of the time the trolls and baiters quietly slink away after being called out.
The main search function is down. Anything in the search bar turns up like that. I was keyword searching for a past thread and got that page too. The site might be under attack again, or it is a routine glitch.

I wish I was 16 again, especially at 55! I used to shoot high power competition at the Sawgrass Rifle club in south Florida. I am primarily a black powder shooter theses days. Was in Navy in Japan for eight years, and my son is a pilot in in the USAF
