I know some people here have seen this, but others may not have and I ran across it again recently and always find it a good read.

This is the story behind the development of Thin Film technology - and how the Pinnacle tube came about.

For those who don't know, the film is a sintered film of Aluminium Oxide - the same stuff corundum or ruby is made out of. That's a story in itself too...
