Android and Elite 5700 bluetooth issues

Which Note 8 version do you have? A European note 8 or a US Note 8 (cpu is the difference)

Can you connect after a reboot?

On my European Note 8 I had (and have) the problem that after a reboot I was able to connect 1 time, but after closing the kestrel ballistic app not any more until the next reboot (the other kestrel link app is working fine by the way, only the ballistic app is making the trouble).

Solution I found: After closing the kestrel ballsitic app, tap on the task manager soft touch button (it is the left one) and than close all apps. After that and restarting the kestrel app again it is connecting again to the kestrel.

I had this problem on several Samsung phones with different android versions (all Eurepean phones). On a Samsung US S7 or S8 it does not happen.

It looks like that just closing the kestrel app does not close the bluetooth connection completly and if you restart than the app it is running into the connection problem, only realy closing the app with the task manager (or a reboot) is solving it.

Hope that this helping you.

I also noticed that if I switch screens within the app the bluetooth connection gets lost

Hmm, I do not have this problem (at the moment ...). as long as I am in the app, the connection is working. So this is even worse than on my end. Did you tried to close all apps with the task manager and restart the kestrel ballistic app?

Yes I make sure everything is closed then I only open the Kestrel app. If I try to go from the home screen to the single Target screen and then back to the home screen and then to gun profiles the Bluetooth connection gets lost

Just tried it and I have the same problem. Once I go to "Single Target" the connection is lost and I also cannot reestablish it if I close all apps. Same is with "Multiple Target".

I was not using the kestrel for quite some time because of all those glitches (it also cannot handle 0,05 MIL clicks, only 0,1 MIL clicks), maybe this is a new problem. I use the kestrel only as a "expensive weather meter" for Strelok, which is for me much more stable and useable.

I have seen the same problem on my Android BlackBerry . . . it seems the default for the non-ballistic Kestrel app is to auto connect, and disabling that helped. Ultimately, if I delete the non ballistics app, the ballistic app becomes reliable. Based on this, and a few other oddities in the Kestrel Android offerings, myself, I am of the opinion that the Kestrel Android apps are just not quite there yet, and need some tweaking and refinement . . .

No, this does not help on my side - deleting the other kestrel app.

It is now as earlier mentioned: changing a screen in the balistic app and the connection is lost.

In the past this was not the case, must be a new issue with one of the last app updates.

The kestrel guys should ask the programmer of Strelok to team up. He is able to make a android app that is working. At the moment Strelok can connect to the kestrel and can get the weather data.

I have a number of bluetooth apps, including a external gps receiver. But the kestrel balistic app is the only which is not working realiably.

This is now for over 1 year and now it is getting worse and not better, I must confess that I am now a little bit frustrated.

Mine does drop the connection when not transferring data, but recovers it as needed . . . IE, on the edit guns page, no connection until I send or receive . . . Myself, I don't call that a problem . . . not sure we are seeing the same thing, though . . .

Once it drops it, it doesn't come back.

And hopefully you can add support for a 0,05 MIL per click (= 20 clicks per 1 mil) for the kestrel device. This should not be that difficult.

We have improved stability for Bluetooth coming in the next version of the KLB app. Their are some new features, some visual changes, but also some improvements.

I'm having issues as well. Worked last year with my Motorola phone, now it won't work with either the Motorola or my new Google Pixel 2. It will connect once, but then drop off and not reconnect. Nothing else is using Bluetooth, pushed the updates, changed the battery, nothing works. The app won't use the selected gun profile either. It just remains blank at the top of the app screen for both single and multiple engagement. Can't seem to find any info from Kestrel or google to fix the issue.

Really ticked off, apps are supposed to get better with development, wth

Part of the issue you have, is your phone. The Google Pixel devices are well known for their Bluetooth issues: http://www.androidbeat.com/2017/05/how-to-fix-google-pixel-xl-bluetooth-issues/ and are sometimes resolved through fixes found on the forum.
