Annealer. Best bang for the buck

I am a flame and drill guy still. But, for $268, that may change. It is funny though that 5 seconds is exactly what I use for 223.
I wonder which part of the machine grabbed the three reviewers attention, and made them think. That is some "excellent machining" it better be the first thing I mention besides that I opened the box. To me those read like three fake ass reviews. Where is it made? I am gathering, Serbia.

I had an AGS 1.0. They're a legitimate company and the owner is very responsive.
It's just some guy making them in his garage. Do you think he's running a bot farm to shill the hand made annealers he makes to order?
Are any reviews on any commerce site real? Come on, even Brownells curates it's reviews. I thought you were commenting on the low post count users from the Balkans.
all of those are actually real, there is also a lot of feedback on fleabay for version 1. that's just the way I operate.
compressed tank of gas near an open flame , can't think of a bigger bang than you could get with that . 9 reloads on factory brass and still going without annealing I don't see how annealing is going to make them last longer , but i will see with the next batch if I ever need them .
Lou Murdica says you will get better groups not annealing than using torch annealing 12:30 mark
He probably also shoots with neck turned brass and a tight chamber…

Here we go again with the "only anneal on an AMP bullshit."
Meanwhile, factories are torch annealing brass, his competition is torch annealing brass, AMP annealing brass, not annealing brass, trashing brass after 1 or 2 firings, and probably salt bath annealing brass.
Is everyone who is winning using an AMP?

We aren't trying to shoot the smallest groups.
Molten salt is definitely the most cost effective, and you have finite temperature over both heat and time, rather than just time with flame annealing. Also, because you're running at the exact temp that cartridge brass recrystallizes at, you don't have to be as regimented with your timing.

He had never won it before. He thinks his results are better now using his current method as he says in video linked above. Did you listen to what he said?
I am not here to promote Amp or even annealing in general. Just posted opinions of 2 accomplished and well respected shooters for others.
Not saying they are correct but, I would listen to them for advice before most random keyboard warriors on any forum. Do with the info what you like.
Why don't you all the other newbie reloaders do what we always did back in the 80's , go to the range and shoot your reloads, read the target, than any changes you make in your reloads shoot again and see results on target. You will find out what works and what does not. To many today buy what they are sold on forums and youtube, I am not saying any of the info is not valid, but a lot of these guys are selling. Test everything for yourself.

For now I am looking at upgrading my anealeaze (don’t like it). I’m torn between the Ugly Annealer (ugh terrible branding) and the Burstfire (seems like too much going. I have a case prep.) Any thoughts to push me to one over the other?

That video is a year old and Eric was losing at the time he made the comments. He won SW nats because he started putting effort into shooting, not his annealer. Eric had an awful big dry spell between winning state champs and SW Nats.

Of course he isn't. Eric made a YT video of the AMP when he got it. In the video he shot a few groups and declared the AMP the only way forward. Eric then went to SW Nationals and got 30th place behind at least one guy (top 10) who was using an AGS 1.0 annealer at the time. The idea that an annealer wins F-Open championships is stupid beyond belief.
I will say it again.

Never said annealing won Eric the SW Nationals. Mentioned the SW Nationals to support statement that he is an accomplished shooter as is Lou Murdica.

I didn't give any advice. I called out anyone to prove the AMP makes better ammo with..... wait for it..... some fucking targets.

Annealez.... there is a bit of a learning curve (to all with a torch) but start out with old brass, turn out the lights and look for that dark red glow (bearly red)... BINGO...

Received my AGS 3.0 yesterday. Shipped 3/17 from Serbia and it was here 3/20 !! That includes being over a weekend. Talk about lightning fast shipping!

Jesus, I can see why folks like the AMP. Out of my budget but this guy knows his stuff.
It's been a bit since I used the Annealeez but I seem to remember it being a real pain to change calibers and lacked the plexiglass retainer to keep brass from falling out. I like to load mine up and let her rip and had some 300 blackout that ended up falling into the annealed brass. The Ugly Annealer solved those two problems and it's easy to set up.
Edit: Also, the Annealeez wheels are not metal and if you're not careful, you can melt them.
With that said, and the reason I'm resurrecting this thread, the motor died on me last night. I've reached out to them on a replacement motor as I want to see what the process is to get one and how much it'll be. I purchased it on January 24, 2022 and I've had maybe 4,000 cases through it? Definitely less than 5,000.
No complaints otherwise although the nozzle clamp isn't optimal with the stuff found here in the U.S. It'll work no problem but have to clamp at the nozzle and not on the neck. I bought an extended gas line so I can move the bottle to the floor or wherever as needed.
I do watch the flame tip and adjust gas during the annealing process but I plan on adding a regulator if I can find one that works with the 16oz MAPP cans or whatever they're called.
Will report back once I figure out how to get a new motor.
Edit: A new motor is $25 but they want me to test something first to make sure it's the motor. They responded back, from Australia, in less than an hour.

Look at the burstfire annealer, I have one and absolutely love it. And it has a prep station on top and I'm thinking the new ones come with billet wheels. And the dude that makes them is an absolute stand up guy. I think I was his 2nd customer and I have zero regrets about it.
So there wasn't anything wrong with the Ugly Annealer. I was chopping up 5.56 brass to make 300 blackout and I didn't notice that somehow, one of the cut off mouths had flown/deflected up and landed in the bin and jammed things up once it got to the top feed wheel. After I discovered that, it went back to working as normal. No idea how I missed that. Didn't see it until I'd removed all the brass that was in the bin.
The burst fire looks nice if you need a prep station although I'm not sure I'd want to prep brass and get the shavings and dirt all over the annealer. Plus it doesn't have a way to secure the brass in the funnel or bin and keep it from spilling out. I can get about 250 or so 5.56 or 300 blackout cases in the Ugly Annealer's bin and just let it go with no worry about spillage.

My two cents here which I have left everywhere else is either get the AMP and be done with it, or get one that is fully automated with a hopper so you don’t have to stand there manually loading the goddamn thing the whole time. That one is called the Giraud (or the annealeze), and it is the best flame torch annealer if you care about your time at all. you can load hundreds of 223 or 308 or whatever cases and completely turn your back or even walk away and it will just do it thing until the whole batch is annealed. if you put a regulator on a 1, a 2 1/2, or a 5 gallon propane tank, you can be sure that your flame remains consistent for hours on end and record the PSI and the dwell time for the next session
I think the Annealeze doesn’t hold near as many cases. It also will not do 50 BMG. But it is significantly easier on the Wallet than the Giraud
