Hunting & Fishing Another good article on the lies behind the Wolves

Re: Another good article on the lies behind the Wolves

I will state that I read these articles and do not comment much because I personally have no idea WTF is "really" going on.

However, IMO I see how this got out of control, and in a damn hurry. Only in comparing the devastation they can cause on prey animals and the "survivability" of a canine pack, I compare them to the coyotes here. You just can't stomp them out. And the wolves have to be 100x worse as the coyotes can't take anything much larger than smaller sized deer.

I say hunt the hell out of 'em. Two litters of what, 10 or so? a year per pair. Otherwise, Lock up what you want to keep and hold on as they destroy everything.

Re: Another good article on the lies behind the Wolves

had a friend call me today as he and his dad were in eastern colorado looking for some deer for the up comming season. not seeing much and wondering where all the deer have gone in a usually very productive area. came across what they thought were 3 coyotes standing in a field and to thier suprise when glassing them found them to be 3 gray wolves. talked to a couple farmers after that and told thier story and the farmers said it made sence as they have noticed carcases around and less deer. also noticed the difference in the dismantling of the carcases, not like a coyote. they get ahold like they are in Montana and other northern states and we are Fucked!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your contacts blew a bunch of smoke up your six. According to the CDOW, the only recorded wolf sighting here in Colorado happened 3/3/2006 and was in the extreme north and far west, near Walden. This is the only one they have on record. No wolves have been seen in eastern colorado. I was out yote huntin' today in the pawnee grasslands and there are some big yotes out there. And I seen plenty of pronghorn, a few muley's and one whitetail....so the deer are not dwindling in eastern colorado. A carcass isn't going to always tell what ate it. One coyote does enough damage, but when 3 are tearing into the same deer.....it gets messy.

Here's the official press release from that sighting.

sorry to dissagree but what about the one that was hit on I70 couple years back, and there have been plenty of other sightings that the division wont confirm. just because they have not seen them does not mean they are not there. The land owners and workers are in the field every day and know how and what coyotes do, when things start changing they notice what is happening. I cant prove it nor can you. Time will tell!

I travel all over eastern colorado in the middle of nowhere working for the oilfield industry. We work where the nearest towns may be 20 miles away and I have never seen one out east. Plenty of yotes, but no wolves. And yes there was a wolf supposedly hit on I70. But neither the US Fish and Game, nor the CDOW will confirm like you said. I don't doubt they can travel to Colorado, but we don't have a pack here that resides in state.
