Ok now that I got your attention I just have a little story and a big huge thank you to share.

One of our Canadian dealers- Nordic Marksman - had a nice little ad in the CGN EE with a picture of a Anschutz 1827F in it and the words "in stock". Hit the link 1827F Fortner - Sprint - Nordic Marksman Inc. and boom, I am now a proud owner of a 22lr Fortner action 1827F Sprint 22lr. Ha! Not so fast. The story is way more involved than that! Brad at Nordic Marksman started by telling me how many were in stock and with a request by me to look for a "stunning stock", he took each one out and had pictures from each angle showing the grain of each item in his shop. He packaged the stock photos and test targets and forwarded me the package with a choice few that stood out from the rest!

As soon as I seen the pictures of the Tiger Stripe Stock I knew that I had to have it! Up go all the other fine 22lr's to the EE and after setting down a deposit to hold the stock in question a deal was started. Again after reviewing the target pictures I was able to select a barreled action that showed real promise and had that matched to the tiger stripe stock. Brad again looked for riser pads to match but none fit the fancy grain of this item. Now how many dealer do you know that will pull out their complete stock and picture it from each angle and create a e-mail package with the pics/test targets and send it off in less than a days time? Then go through the complete selection again to try find matching parts!

Never mine the help with tool selection and other items of question and around 30+ e-mails later! I was one happy customer! Can't say enough on the service received from Brad at Nordic Marksman! Thank You! Also the extras included free of charge are great!

As I am no athlete so this rifle was just a way to get the Fortner action in a 22lr package. As I will be using it for more crazy style shooting up to and beyond 300yards a scope and high moa mount were included. (AI 1.52" 45 moa mount pictured but a lower AI 1.31" 28moa mount is coming soon) Extra items include the Bushnell 6x24x50 FFP BTR illum scope as well as the AFAR rail adaptors and Atlas V8.1 bipod. A March 3-24x52 would look great on this rifle! As it sits right now.... Just need some daylight pictures to show the wood properly!

First Range Day with the 1827F.

I like it! Super smooth, fast action that is very light. Can pull back with one finger and reset with my thumb without loosing the sight picture. A very nice bit of engineering! Can shoot very well too even on a foggy, cold day. I had more trouble than the rifle as fingers were not doing as they should! Anyhow pics of the day to keep it interesting!

Oh I think steve123 gets all the blame for the 1827F addictions starting here on the hide! I still need my funds to recover so I can get the March 3-24x52mm scope on the top! I am just as much a victim of seeing a nice rifle and wanting the same! You will Love the Fortner action on these! Best action I have seen for the 22lr stuff, worth the extra bit of cash for sure! Just make sure you let the wife take it out on the range too!

Wow, Congrats on the 1913 Supermatch! That will be a winning deal. I just like the crazy fast action on the 1827F, the wood is just a great bonus! The CS at Nordic Marksman was a great experience! Will be working with Brad on the next deals for sure! Can't say enough about how good he has been with all the questions and help!

This would be the perfect action for a can! Wish the rules were different here New 28moa AI mount that sits lower but still allows room for the NV. I like the look of this scope height better. Could drop it another .1" if I went with the 30mm mount instead of the 34mm but close enough for now

The balance is very nice as pictured but will be pushing the stock back another 1.25" for a longer LOP so that may change a bit. Have a 14.5 LOP now.
Still it has wickedly nice feel to it right now!

That seems like a long LOP. How tall are you? I find that with a shorter LOP I can control the rifle better than with a long one, but to each his own...

I am 6'4" but normally run a 14.5" LOP. I can't move the scope up anymore so I am pushing the stock back to compensate for this. I tend to crawl up on the scope.

Just came across this thread. Very nice setup. I jumped into one of these rifles last summer. Couldn't be happier with the rifle, but wanted to see how it would be in a silhouette stock. I found a used one and did a little whittling and came up with this. I like it even more. On a still day bout an inch at 100.

Those 1827's always get me. I think that's the prettiest one I have seen. Some CS allowing you to pick the action and the stock separate.

Brad at Nordic Marksman was absolutely great with everything. Helped me again with a custom stock to add to my LOP and even prefit it on his rifle to show how much length I could get. Thanks on the comments, I am loving the wood on this!

cwmoss- How hard was it to mod the inlet to allow for that action in a (54?) stock?

And now with the new MEC Contact III buttplate and 10rd mags and extras, might play with how low the bottom hook will sit at but this make me smile now!

Actually not hard at all. It has almost the same footprint as the 54.18MSR. You have to clearance it at the rear and then on the side where the bolt moves rearward. I "practiced" on a stock that I had REALLY whitled on many years ago. I then started looking for a 54.18 MSR stock and when found, kinda knew how much to take off. I'll take some up close pics and post them.

Look forward to seeing the pics! I asume the two action bolts spacing is the same? Is the bottom footprint of the action the same too. If all that is required is the clearances at the rear and at the side by the action then that would open up a lot of options for stocks.

I didn't do any rebedding, just clearanced the rear, bolted it in and went shooting. I will probably refinish the stock at some point. There is a pic of the first "very whittled" stock that I opened up. Also, here are a couple groups fired at 100 on a still day.

Hi Daryl, Thank you for the pictures and info. This is great news for a few ideas I have for a folding chassis style stock for the 1827F. Now I just wish I had more info on the new eberlestock 1827F biathlon chassis prior to starting anything. Wishing it had the take down feature for the stock? As shown in the following link... Hi ,
That is a great looking rifle .I went about it a different way and had a custom stock made for $1200.My 1827F Is a left hand heavy barrel model.What diameter is yours it looks like you have a large diameter end.The HB IS 18MM & the sprint model barrel is 16mm.Also you can use the 10 round mags used on the 1710 hunting rifle if you didn't know which is nice.Here is picture of my gun .I really like the Canadian supplier he seems to get almost anything although he won't import to the U.S. Your stock is beautiful never saw one like that with lots of tiger tail.I like that too and picked out a similar blank you can't beat a nice stock.Cheers
