Re: Any bad reviews for Krieger barrels?
wnroscoe,
I was looking at a similar article the you replied to discussing the pro's and con's of .338 RUM and .338 Lapua. I've let my idea of having an Edge built dissolve because I'm not confident enough in my reloading skills to mess with a wildcat cartridge and from what I've researched most say the only draw between RUM and Lapua is better, longer lasting brass on the Lapua. My draw is that even is the Lapua brass is more expensive upright, the cost will be justified with the life expectancy of it. Any insight into this would be great. Oh, and I've also read that the Edge cartridge doesn't do well with a box magazine because of resizing it to fit. Any pointers with a box magazine setup, and the fit for a "CIP"? The setup I have is comprised of this:
Precision Extreme Titanium Receiver
32" Krieger 1 in 9 fluted tube with Heavy Palma contour
"Muscle Brake" 4 port
CG Extreme 2 stage trigger
Custom stock from my smith
Optics is a NF 5.5 by 25, but that's all preference.
My main concerns are justifying the round with performance and how I can reload over time. My smith is John Whidden with Whidden Gunworks in Nashville, GA
