I'm getting ready to purchase my first can. I've read up on a lot of different cans out there and it's crazy how many choices there are nowadays. My budget is a big factor, with teenage children it's hard to justify 1K+ for a suppressor plus the stamp. I'm also all about simplicity and function.

I don't need the quietest, lightest or quickest detachable can out there. I prefer a direct thread mount, though I do like the versatility of Sig's QD mount. I want to keep it simple, but want it to be durable. I will using this can for 2 rifles. The main rifle that this can will be at home on is a 7.5" 300 blk. The only other rifle I plan to use it on is my 18" 308 AR, then only when I'm shooting at the range, maybe in one or two competitions per year and once or twice hunting.

I like the SRD762 can's construction, welded baffles, direct thread mount and is rated for up to 300WM, which 308 is the most powerful cartridge I'll use with it.

Anyone here using one? Either direct thread version or QD? I may end up getting the QD version and putting the mounts on both rifles. Is the Titanium can going to be more durable than the standard inconel baffled (cheaper) version? The inconel model is the one I'm likely going to go with since it's well within my budget. Any thoughts or advice welcome.

I have a brand new one that I would give you a good deal on. Its still on a form 3 so it will be a quick transfer to your dealer. PM me if you are interested.

Another good option if you are looking for titanium is the dead air sandman Ti. It is also direct thread, rated up to 300 Win Mag, with no minimum barrel length limitations.
Length 8.2"
Weight 16.8oz
Diameter 1.5"
Cost from silencer shop is $700 minus the stamp. Currently have one in jail so can't say much about it. All the reviews I read had nothing bad to say about it.

Had one for about a year. Can’t compare to others except that it is as good as any other.
Mounting system rock solid. Good on 308 and 223. No problems at all!

I have one in jail right now. Researched and heard one and was sold. I ended up with the threaded SRD762 myself. The Ti would not last long on my 11" FAL nor on my 10.5" 556 guns.

Brownells blowing them out at $390

Anybody have any issues mounting the muzzle device on a standard barrel thread? I only get about a thread and a half before the flange hits the shoulder on my heavy palma.

Thanks

After digging in some more, it looks like there was a design change by Sig. The threads on the mount that came with my suppressor are significantly (like half) as deep as the afyer market mount I bought. The aftermarket grabs way more muzzle threads, no issues. Will call Sig tomorrow to confirm.

I have Sig cans for the 9mm pistol and .22LR. Their quality is great.

For a rifle suppressor, I really like the OSS with their flow-through technology.

Even though Sig says you can use their direct thread cans on a 90 degree shoulder, I worry about that.

Look at the photo below to see what I mean. This is a great idea for their rifles but if you have one with a 90 degree shoulder, I wonder if it may cause problems with alignment or the can coming loose (which can happen with any suppressor).

This may be nothing to worry about but should probably be considered anyway.

What I like about OSS suppressors is that I don't have to make any modifications with a gas gun. Mine works great on my AR-15.

Sent my muzzle device back to Sig over the weekend. Sounds like they are going to swap it out. Will report back once I get everything back and set up.

Direct thread is where it's at. Zero issues running it on square shoulders for the past year.

Zero issues with it coming loose.

Every rifle I put it on so far has shot better groups. There isn't much poi shift on the ones I've checked.

If it does get stuck there are wrench flats. Haven't needed them yet.

Suppression is good, 300bo subs are silly fun. 6.5 Creed and 280ai it definitely knocks the recoil down and has a great tone. I still wear electronic muffs, but it's quiet enough for 1-2 shots hunting without ringing ears.

Should add that its probably not a big deal to use the one on the right if you had the Sig-profiled muzzle threads, but does not work on a standard shouldered barrel (at least on a larger OD barrel).

The Sig cans are well designed and work. They aren't a can that really stands out in any 1 area but they are a nice overall can. If you are in the market for something general, then this is a good option.

If you want to fall more on the side of sound suppression and precision I'd go with a SiCo Omega. The Omega is by far my favorite can and one I always find taking to the range.

I own all of the Sig cans. The 762 direct thread is the largest and quietest of the bunch. The SS is the smallest and cheapest and will work just fine. The QD mounts are nice and are two piece designed which facilitates perfect alignment very easily. If your running a bolt gun I would have no problem getting the SS version, it will work just fine. I have cans from several Mfg and dont really care which can I use on bolt guns they all work well.

Final note, they started making a new smaller 762 direct thread for people with bolt guns that don't need that much of a large can / suppression. Good option too.
