That's the last grandstand I sat at during the last USGP. The first several GPs they didn't even have stands there. Have also had seats on the front straight. Which isn't that great for watching, but it's way cooler since you are in the shade. Turn 12-18 area are the best to watch any race at since that is where most of the passing takes place. Especially turn 12.

Yep! I think they called it HAAS Hill back in the day. It was definitely a cool experience! I still think the best seat in the place is on my couch in front of the TV. and it was an absolute circus! It’s kind of hard to wrap your head around the fact that 432,000 people came through the gate over three days.

Turns out RBR and MCL had to raise the ride heights of their cars because they knew the floorboards were wearing too fast. Not the first time it has happened since RBR was lifting at Eau Rouge in Belgium and had to raise the car in Singapore. It would explain why Max just didn't just pull a 10-20 second lead at COTA. I really wonder if they checked all the cars, which ones would not have passed. Speculations says over half of the grid might have been DQ'ed if they checked.

The amount of people that went this year versus 2017 when my wife and I went is pretty unreal.

Watching the telecast this year, it was blatantly obvious how much more people were there.

Was happy to watch from the couch this year but glad you got to experience it!

Thank you, sir! It was a must see and I've seen it! The couch is THE play and A/C is underrated! It was stupid HOT and as one of the Haas reps said of the crowds... "If you didn't have CoVid before, you do now!"

I went to the US GP in Texas for 2021. It was like $300 for 3 days general admission. I had a folding chair sleeve slung over my shoulder but instead of a chair it was stacked with sandwiches and beer. There were so many people and not enough security that people started running past them into the GA sections to get a seat. It was a madhouse but everyone was well-behaved and friendly.

Before the race the marines had chinooks fly overhead for the anthem and the pilots were looking down at us waving out the windows. Everyone was just happy to be there.

I did MotoGP there the month prior and got to ride the track, too. MotoGP was insane, way louder than F1, the wrecks and slides were amazing. All the manufacturers have demo tents with their bikes set up for you to ride in between races.

If I did F1 in North America again I’d do Montreal. I’ve been to that track when it was covered in snow in the off-season. There is a giant casino right in the middle of it. I’d do Vegas too but only if someone bought my ticket!

Monaco is nice, watched it from a boat in the harbor one’s. I still like spa a lot too, infrastructures hasn’t been nice there in the 90’s ,.. still o’rouge is something else!!

Almost forgot to mention the Red Bull ring, beautiful area and you see a lot of the track if you choose a seat in a higher area.

In all seriousness, that's cool! I was going to take leave in '91, to go to SPA...but my leave got cancelled due to others having family emergencies that precluded me taking leave at that time.

Did go to the US F1 at Indy in 2001 and Australia in 2011.

Considering how rule changes turn favor to one brand or another for a cycle that lasts a couple years. LH could be jumping into a garbage truck. Ferrari hasn't been able to capitalize on any of the previous ones while Red Bull and MB have. Then again it could be that LH's head has swelled up from all the patting himself on the back that he has not kept up with the other drivers.
My hope is that he ends up driving a red garbage truck around the back of the pack and we get to watch him cry every week about Ferrari not doing anything he needs to win.

LH knows that if he wants to be the “greatest” he has to win with Ferrari. Because Ferrari is F1.

And jumping to Ferrari in addition to jumping when Ferrari is mid pack would show it’s “him” not the car, because he can win anywhere.

He’s 39, it’s impossible to be in your prime in a physical sport.

Biggest bang for the buck is his development skills and process.

Ferrari loses in the off season for the last 15 years.

They don’t push the envelope with design as much as others. They come out with updates during the year that are competitive with other mfg updates

But they are playing catch up.

Lewis like schu will hopefully entice a larger network of skilled design people to join.

Everywhere he goes the car is better then when he got there and when he leaves there is a bigger drop off.

It’s not a debate as it’s been said multiple times by not only drivers but engineers.

Have to remember that ferarri will be hungey to help hamilton perform. They have had a few bad runs and they dont want the general public to loose the perception of "ferarri is F1, F1 is ferarri". If hamilton is a back filler, this could honestly destroy their reputation.
