Any recommendations for rifle rest?

Initial goal is load development at short to moderate ranges (I have convenient access to 100m range which I will likely use, once/month access to 200m, and few hrs drive away access to 300m). Unsure if same rest will be used in the future for other purposes - advice is welcome. Overall goal is to shoot up to 1000 yards.

I shoot Tikka TAC A1 in 6.5 CM. No plans on shooting any larger calibers anytime soon.

Portability is important. Price is secondary (keeping in mind my beginner - not pro competition - level).

Thank you

May want to check out accurateshooter, this is more their wheelhouse than SH.

Rests are like rifles - you can get a basic cadwell rock BR, or spend thousands on a joystick rest.

I've been contemplating a rock BR with a shade tree top, but I just can't justify spending that much on a rest quite yet. Interested to see which way you go.

If you have plans to shoot BR or F-Class matches a good fully adjustable front rest would be a must otherwise its just a range toy.
They are heavy and can be very costly depending on what you get, i got a middle of the road one years ago but it mainly just sits now since i primarily shoot off of a bipod.
