.....truth is its hard to get shit done when your party is a bunch of pussies, and the other party throws temper tantrums and threatens to hold their breath over every move he makes........

hes also only been in office 6 months.....at least give the dude half way into his term to start complaining about all the stuff he hasnt done.

Unfortunately, MC, they are all politicians, and therein lies the problem. He may not call himself a politician (should I say 'pollution'?), but a spade is a spade....

There's a difference between VEPRs being banned, and sanctions being placed against the company that makes them. Banned means illegal to purchase, which is not the case. They just won't be importing any more until the sanctions are lifted. This isn't much to get outraged about, IMHO. I don't see this as anti 2A, just geopolitics.

That doesn't pertain to, or excuse weapons bans by executive order.

I'll be honest that I don't follow all the Russia shit as closely as I probably should be, I'm pretty busy otherwise with a heavy as hell college course load in the summer at the moment, but of what I do keep up with I feel there is a serious need to increase Russian sanctions, specifically of their defense industry. Of course, this hits sporting arms acquisition within the US and pisses us the shooters off, but I'm seriously good with that provided there is a REAL reason for the import bans, not like the ones papa Bush 41 put in place that were just gun control.

I know it's not much consolation to the eastern block shooting fans, but there's a lot of alternatives out there for ammunition and weaponry that are made either in partner nations or domestically (for a price). I still harbor serious disdain for Russia, particularly their fuck head President/Prime Minister (read: dictator) Putin, because he and the whole lot of them want to bring immense harm to our great nation every bit as much as the old guard of the USSR did. Fuck them and the horse they rode in on, and that includes my weaponry as you will not find one single piece in my entire house that was made in Russia, and you never will either.

What I would really love to see is a massive partnership with the EU for energy, and we start pumping and shipping the shit out of NG and crude over there while they put a full on energy embargo on Russia, economically crippling them in the process, although that may make things REAL interesting...

well first of all i was replying to anothers comments, not yours.

however, it looks like the VEPR was banned as part of the sanctions against russia......i doubt it has anything to due with them being guns..

Molot is Ukranian not Russian. They have had a lot of financial difficulties in the last few years. The POSSIBILITY that Kalashnikov Concern could buy them is what drove the sanction. IMO, it is an excuse for some to take advantage of GeoPolitics while those 2A haters on the right look at it as the "most reasonable thing to do". Yes, I said 2A haters on the right. To them, representing they are on our side is an appeasement tool only. They have a vested interest in America not having firearms...or, arms period.

I can say, I've never really wanted an AK style rifle...until I shot a VEPR. The accuracy was just a whole lot better than what I'd seen in the past.

I'm not all in about them being Russian. They may be neighbors, but that don't mean they're best friends
Maybe puppets again. We'll see if things get better and the sanctions get lifted.

Interesting Mr Todd, what was it chambered in? And what do ya think of the 5.45 cartridge? I'd reckon the 6.5 Grendel would be interesting in a accurized kalashnikov platform.. say, maybe something from Krebs? I know Larry Vickers was quite impressed with the AN94 and AEK971 when he went over to shoot with the spetsnaz Alpha group. Seemed like a squared away group of dudes.

Honestly I think we gotta bunch more in common with Russia than some of the dumbass alliances we've made with lot of the Arab nations that we pay only to receive a knife in our back in return.

Far as Trump, he's got 100% Yankee blood running thru his veins he aint got no tiger blood, so best to keep em at arms length imo tho I like/agree with a few things he's said. Regardless, somebody who's so thoroughly New York big city to the core has to have some statist tendencies.. if I'm using "statist" how I believe it is defined anyhow - supporter of massive central gov't, etc. Apparently his son is into shooting fwiw.

Any type of sanctions or bans only makes that gun more popular

The gun may be more popular, but that doesn't mean there are enough to go around. It's not about price, it's about availability.

And, speaking of sanctioning Russian exports, why have we not but a ban on Russian oil? If anything adds to the Russian economy, there would be far more money to divert into their defense fund from oil than arms export....just sayin'.

The whole thing sucks IMO. GeoPolitics at their worst.

I guess with this kind of pressure on Russia it removes all possibilities of getting VSS Vintorez's imported.
I thought you didn't like their shit?;)
Anyways, very interesting stuff. I have personally found that no matter how you dress it up, subsonic is like a pig in lipstick. For close range, when nobody is lookin', you'd tap that all night long. But, for full range/full speed reality, it's just another nine pound BB gun.

Ban imports of guns, yes, of oil, no; Gotta be some sort of political bias there...

But what do I know...

The swamp, she's still ain't drained yet. I'm losing my certainty here...

Mmmm VEPR 12ga makes me happy

Espeially if blessed by the touch of Tromix. Who needs a shoulder in one piece anyway? (Yeah, I know who.)

We need to get him something that he can't carry.
