I have a 12”(I think) De Boyer carbon pan that I use pretty frequently. I use that and my 12” Lodge sort of interchangeably.Ive since fallen in love with Lodge carbon steel pans.
Cooks and cleans up as good as cast without the weight.
I still love my cast but the carbon steel is really easy to work with.

They are not made anywhere as nice as that Smithy but they work great.
I promised my stepdaughter she could have the Lodge when she moves out. This is also a built-in excuse to get myself a badass cast iron pan next. I know there are dozens of options but I’m eyeballin a Finex pretty hard. They’re beautiful.
