Anyone familiar with the Vltor CASV-14 on the M1A?

I was going to remove the Vltor rail and install a Troy chassis instead, but I’ve run into the screws in the stripper clip guide mount and that sucker will not budge (the round one obviously needs to be removed first).

Am I missing a set screw or something? Is it reverse threaded? I’ve put as much force as I am comfortable with on that screw. Any more and I’m afraid it’ll strip or sheer off.

Best bet if I don’t have a soldering iron handy? Can a standard hair dryer get it hot enough?
I doubt it but it cant hurt to try it... what you need is a concentrated heat source to apply the heat directly to the fastener in question. Go ahead and give it a try, though, won't hurt anything as long as you don't apply any more force than you already have to the screw.
