I have been reading as much as i can about night vision stuff but am a total noob when it comes to h mounting process. I'm be running a remington 700 in a B&C A2 stock 26" varmint barrel. was looking at this unit because it would take care of scope (for the time being) as well as do my NV stuff too. I would like to upgrade to a higher powered scope a bit later on.

I'm mainly just wanting to target shoot out to about 500 yards

thanks for any help

Re: anyone know anything about these kits?

The specs suggest 45 plus lp/mm which is prob g2 tech. Could be tough at 500 yds. Not heard much good from AtN. But alot of these guys are alot more knowolgeable on this subject as I only use monoculars w ir lasers. Try a used Raptor if you can swing it.

Re: anyone know anything about these kits?

I was looking at maybe a PVS 14 but i have no clue how you would go about mounting the dang thing.

In fact i have not seen any information on mounting anything NV on a rifle so i have no clue how any of it would work. Tis why I was looking at an all inclusive kit.

Re: anyone know anything about these kits?

ATN's earlier PS22 didn't have such a good reputation for holding zero. I don't know about the PS40.

But if you're shooting targets at night out to 500m (?) I don't think it would be suitable. I'd suggest a dedicated 6x NV scope or maybe even a PVS-14 behind the ocular of a dayscope, with extra IR for very accurate placement at those kinds of ranges.

Or maybe wait for TNVC's new scope to come out later this year.

As for 45 lp/mm in a front-mounted scope adapter? That's not a great choice and would definitely be Gen2. I would avoid that entirely as a choice, though that's just opinion.
