Sidearms & Scatterguns Anyone know what this is?

Buddy of mine sent me this picture from Alaska of a pistol he ran across. All he told me is that he thought it's an Iver Johnson and that it has Owls on the grips. Bad picture. He's just looking for info.

Looks like an Iver Johnson. Does it have U.S. Revolver Co stamped on it? If so that wa made by Iver and i believe its a .32 short

He's gonna bring it back to me next week and I'll be able to check it out in detail. This picture is the only visual info i have at this point. I'll pull the grips off to get the serial number as well.

Those ivers, H&r's, and old smiths are the hipoints of the 1800's, cheap pocket guns made in mass for the everyday joe to have a protection pocket gun. Not valuable persay but neat little pistols that were used hard and carried by a shit ton of miners and hard workin folks back in the day

Oh...I know exactly what that is! It's an old-a$$ gun. I'm great with trivia like this. It's also got a red tint to it. Someone might have used this up close and personal.

looks a lot like the revolver i inherited from my great-grandpa; Iver Johnson .38 S&W.

mine is in much better shape though
