Night Vision Anyone tried the Holosun LE321-GR?

I purchased a Holosun 109 IR/green even though I couldn't find any reliable information on it other than a YouTube video review. I have to say it's been utterly fantastic. I purchased it for $100 back in 2017. I had no clue they are worth upwards of $700 and the guy I purchased it from apparantly didn't either. He got it as part of a gear trade and was happy with my $100 offer.

I've put the Holosun through lots of abuse and its held up and held zero very well. The design is really well thought out and is built really well. It doesn't feel as flimsy to me as the DBAL-i2.

I already had a DBAL-i2 that was good but underwhelming. I wasn't a fan of the non-slaved IR/red laser. The Holosun is slaved and I ended up selling the DBAL off.
Thank you for your input. What kind of range do you get with the Ir laser?

@KitShickers I'm in the market for an IR laser/illum combo and have been looking into the Holosuns as well. I couldn't find a lot on the LE321G beyond a single review on Opticsplanet that seems to indicate the IR Illuminator is weak, same as the LS 321. I think that's basically what you're going to get with any eye-safe illuminators because there's only so many mW of illumination and it is necessarily diffused over an area as opposed to a fine beam.

Is the Dbal D2 considered eye safe? Sounds like the illuminator on that one is awesome.

Not familiar with the DBAL D2 but it looks like it has a very powerful (600 mW!) LED illuminator, so basically a big ass IR flashlight.

My interim solution until I figure out what is worth the upgrade (which is more complicated since I am in Canada and therefore an ITAR leper) is a Perst 4 Russian laser mounted next to an Inforce WLMx vis/IR flashlight. The Inforce is at 12 o'clock on the pic rail and the Perst is mounted at 9 o'clock since I shoot lefty. I use the Perst tape switch mounted behind the Inforce and I can easily manipulate both with either hand. I can throw up a pic if you want to see the setup.

To be honest I haven't really left the basement with my setup, so I can't tell you that, and I can't find anything at the moment that clearly answers that. It was really the easiest, cheapest option for me that had some semblance of reliability associated with it (as opposed to an amazon special)

There is this to help though - https://www.snipershide.com/shootin...r-signatures-illuminator-comparisons.7004496/

He has both downrange signature and the illuminator comparison on his personal page. The high res combined image is excellent. The Amazon special all zoomed in is actually quite impressive.

Great thread. Thanks for sharing. I have the Nitecore. It would be awesome if it had a focusable beam. I wonder why more manufacturers don’t use 940nm leds.
