going to try and load up some lr loads in a pre 64 winchester .any suggestions would be appreciated .

For grins and giggles I loaded up some 190 SMK over both IMR4350 and AA3100 in my Pre-64 - .300 H&H. I shot out to 800 yards, ringing the plate.

mine came fully decked out with mcm stock , so i think i will give it a try with some 208 amax and retumbo .

same here, 190 sierra over 4350, mine shoots best a grain or two below max. This is with a factory 26" pencil barrel.

I say rebarrel the old 30-30magnum to a 300 win mag. just messing with you. I agree shoot the partitions I have heard they have great bc's and are a great long range bullet.

I've been using 200gr. GameKings w/IMR4350 in mine, for hunting.

Did use 180 Nosler Partitions for hunting. The 190 SMK load above was for plate shooting. I was reading about the Accubond and may have to give them a try.
This is a neat old cartridge.
