Gunsmithing Anyone using GTR products?

Re: Anyone using GTR products?

I know. I was looking for someone who has used them, and can comment on their usefulness/quality. A full set of bushings with the mandrel is about $550.00.

Sometimes it is worth it to buy the tools rather than make them, especially when your work time is limited.

Re: Anyone using GTR products?

I use them all the time.
Good tools.
I have an OD grinding setup through so I make my own bushings as needed.
Eventually you end up with a whole set anyways so if this is something you use a lot, buy the whole set now.
If this is a one-off deal for you, just buy the bushings as you need them.

Re: Anyone using GTR products?

I own the PTG tools. I used them when I first started out and have all the bushings as well. The tools work great and are a good alternative to the single point method but, I prefer the single point method for all of my cuts and truing.

The bushings and a .500" diameter precision ground, hardened rod are a must for receiver truing via the single point method.

That was what I was looking for.
