I'm building a custom 6.5cm and I'm going back and forth on bottom metal. They're very similar but the APA would allow me to run either AI or AW mags. That's the way I was leaning but suddenly started second guessing myself. This is going to be a hunting rifle, first and foremost, so I'd like to run a small (and light) magazine with a limited # of cartridges, when I'm hunting. The fact that CC offers a 3 round AI magazine caught my eye. However, their magazine would also fit in the APA bottom metal. Ugh. Decisions, decisions.

Any advice on one over the other? Is there going to be an advantage to one or the other?

Id go with APA. great company, been around for a minute. Got to be some reason ther a lot of "similar" products out there, Ive seen them cut and weld AI mags to 2-3 rounders. You should be able to get an extended mag catch for the APA so you can fit up AW mags tight.

APA all the way! Jered is one hell of a good guy and a true patriot. Having used his RTG I have to say it is flawless in form and function. It is as at home on a "tactical" rifle as it is a hunting rifle in a AAA Claro stock, just like his rings. You will not be disappointed with the RTG!

I'm doing a lighter weight 6.5creed build, I chose the APA and it looked great and is lightweight(around 3oz), it's out with the action for cerakote it should all come together in a couple weeks.

For hunting duty mine will be using modified (trimmed feed lips) Ruger Gunsite Scout 3 round mags they are a little under 2oz and only cost $30.

A bottom metal with DBM at around 5oz is a win in my book.
