Ar stock for youth

Im looking to build an AR for my daughter to hunt with. Any suggestions for a good youth stock? I know most are adjustable for length, but worry about cheek placement and potential recoil

Find an old A1 stock, IIRC they're like an inch or two shorter than an A2.

Ace Entry ultralight stocks. They come in different lengths and different extensions can be purchased.

How will that do for cheek placement? I have not shot a lot of ARs, but seems like it would be tough to line them up on a solid base.

If your kid needs a really short lop, there really isn't a great option for an AR with a standard charging handle. A magpul CTR and The Larue RISR is pretty good if your scope height lines up with it. It adds about 1/2" to the cheek height. Your mount height may or not be tall enough or too tall. For all the positives it has, the extra springs make charging the rifle a bit more difficult. For a kid, that may or may not be a good trade.

Adjust them stocks however they need it.

Just upgraded to a MOE SL stock. Me and my daughter both like it better than the CTR we had on her AR.

I am personally a fan of the B5 SOPMOD stocks. They are really comfortable.

All my rifles wear them. My 5 and 8 year olds shoot them fine with scopes and Aimpoints.

Why side charging? Is it a safety thing? I have no experience with ARs only bolt guns.

You can run the cheek piece up on an adjustable stock and accommodate little kid faces without interfering with the charging handle function.
