where would I get a rail for the MOE handguard? Is the rail "especially made" for the MOE? Does it make the rifle lighter? I am trying to build one for my kids to shoot that is not heavy....thanks

It's a cruddy cell phone picture I snapped to send to a buddy of mine, but here's my AR configured as you're looking for before I mounted my Knights rail:
It really is a lightweight setup and the handguard feels great, very well thought out design. As for the rails, I had the same question you do and could never figure it out. My guess is it may be compatible with JP modular rails. Good luck!

Falcon makes the rails MagPul sells for the MOE. If you go to Brownells website and look up the MOE handguard they are at the bottom of the page.

I sell the Midwest Industries rails for the MOE handguards. MW makes short rails and long rails. They work great.
The MOE handguard is a good cheap option. I think they are great as a lone handguard, but most of the ones I have seen do wobble a little when you start adding attachments. IMHO they work best naked. You get the full feel for how nice they are contoured.

Guess I lucked out. No wiggle at all on mine even with the AFG and light mounted.
