Looking for a custom action, hung up on these three. Don’t care for changing the bolt head as it will stay 6.5 CM but looking for easy barrel change, preferably integral rail, just something simple/reliable to drop into magpul pro 700 chassis. What is your favorite and why?

ARC Mausingfield, Impact, or Terminus Zeus?

I own a Mausingfield and just bought a Terminus Zeus and am actually doing a bit of a run off at the moment to see which I like better. I am not a PRS or LE/Mil shooter so I can't tell you how they perform when you cover em in sand and run em hard. Here are my thoughts:
I am leaning towards the Zeus but would be happy with either.
- The Mausingfield has lighter bolt lift; its not a big difference but you can feel it
- At the moment the bolt on the Mausingfield feels a little smoother when I am cycling it. This might be due to the fact that the Zeus is brand new and I am not used to it yet. It could also be because the cycling of the Mausingfield is a little quieter and my brain thinks that noisy means rougher.
- I prefer the mechanical ejection of the Mausingfield. I can drop my brass onto the bench rather than having it flung off the bench onto the ground where it can be stepped on by range officers or stolen by brass goblins.
- I prefer the 60 degree bolt throw of the Zeus. It keeps my knuckles away from my scope.
- I really like the threaded trigger pins on the Zeus. It makes so much sense I don't know why nobody else has done it.
- I prefer AW magazines over AICS. I am still experimenting but at this moment but I like the way the AW mag plus the HRD magazine kits handles my 6mm BR cases versus an AICS magazine and the Primal Rights kit. The AW mags are also shorter and easier to load too.
- Swapping a barrel on the Zeus is much easier. I still have to test repeatability and return to zero but don't expect it to be an issue.
- The Zeus is significantly heavier.
- I prefer the bolt release on the Zeus.
- I have to give the customer service advantage to Terminus. When you call it's Joel that picks up and answers your questions.
I am leaning towards the Zeus but would be happy with either.
Had an Impact and got a Zeus. Had a Zeus and sold it. Got an Impact again. Won't be switching. Impact takes the cake as the lightest bolt lift, smoothest to operate, easiest to find pre fit barrels for and easiest to find stocks with inlets specifically cut for the action. Impact wins every single time. Impacts feel "right" as hard as it is to describe. Tight but loose. Loose but smooth. Smooth and fast. Those guys have just got it figured out. I've had desert tech SRSs, deviance deviants, Terminus Zeus's and Impacts. Unequivocally, Impact wins in every category.
I love my Impact, just cycles so smooth, and doesn’t care what magazine you throw in there. I am really happy with this, coming from an ARC and Curtis, this just feels so effortless. YMMV
I’ve had a trued/slicked 700, AX, nuke, and an impact. I keep thinking about ordered a Zeus but the impact keeps calling me back to order another one
Mausingfield is super underrated.

Ok some more details from me and my experience. I can from a DLC defiance. It was a smoother action but much “tighter” it wouldn’t bind but it wasn’t near as fast. The bolt lift was more and it didn’t have the hitch on close like the impact does. The impact is a little looser but it is faster. The bolt lift is much less and it kind of assist the bolt on close with the way it’s designed.
my group overall has over 20 impacts on it and they are ALL fantastic.We have taken barrels and swapped them around with no issues on any of them.
multiple of them are chambered in 6 creed and theyall run the same load without any issues.
we have them in foundations (duh), manners, JAllen, MPAstocks and chassis without any issues what so ever.
impact wins for a reason and they have it figured out.

Check this out. I was in Colorado in November (Killed an awesome 5x5 Bull btw).
Was at the range with my Dads new Impact 6.5prc. I opened my gun case on the ground and it was laying there on the foam next to my GAP Crusader that has the Templar or branded Defiance action on it. A small gust of wind blew some fine dust onto my gun case covering both rifles with the bolt side having up. I shit you not, my Defiance seized up and I couldn't cycle my bolt. My dads Impact literally chewed it up and ran as smooth as it did prior. I have perfect first hand experience seeing them side by side work and not work. I just sold my Zeus and rebuilt an Impact, and today I am selling my Defiance and ordering a 2nd Impact. I thought there was a lot of fan boyism about these things but there really is a tangible and quantifiable difference.
I have been running an Impact for the last year and absolutely love it. Going from using a rem 700 it's a night and day difference. The impact is incredibly smooth. I recently picked up a lone peak fuzion to try something different, but don't have the rifle finished yet so can't compare how it runs next to the impact. Just handling the lone peak It seems every bit as smooth. Logistically I think the Impact wins with prefits already available.
I went from Remington 700s to Bighorns and have ended up at Terminus.

I’m a back to basics kind of guy. The action’s job is to move the round from the magazine to the chamber. That’s it. Not very complicated.
The first question is will it do that every time. My Defiance Rebel fails that test. To make it cycle reliably, I need to have my thumb on the back of the bolt on a good day and it fails completely in the volcanic dust here in eastern Idaho. It locks up solid.
All the others pass that test. The second question is how do they feel while doing their job. There are differences here but I am happy with all the others; Mausingfield M7’s, Impacts both long and short, an Origin, a trued Remington, Dakotas, and several others. I am happy with them all. I am happiest with the Impacts. The Dakotas would be second choice.
It’s personal preference as to how they feel and which features you prefer for me. Even features like CRF, replaceable bolt heads, and others become second to function. The only must have is prefit barrels but they all offer that mostly. Integral lugs and rails are also high up on my list of preferences.

The archimedes has me thinking quite a bit. Its like an Accuracy Intermausingfield with pry bar extraction. Only thing I wish it had was a 60* bolt lift. I think Ted is a real innovator. Someday I will have an Archimedes hunting build 
+1 on Impact. My first match ever last year i had breakfast with 2 super nice dudes. Found out we were in the same squad. Quickly realized they were really really good shooters. They helped a newbie like me the entire match always offering their gear and tips to help me out. Just genuinely down to earth and humble dudes. Had no clue who these guys were. I googled their names and boy was i surprised. It was Tate Streater and Clay Blackketter. I was sold on Impact before I even knew about or touched an Impact. Their character alone made me a customer. Customer service is second to none. It’s Tate that you talk to on the phone and answer emails immediately. I now have multiple Impacts and are the smoothest I’ve felt. Even in the dirtiest conditiions, they keep running. And you can find prefits just about anywhere
Defiances tend to have tighter clearances. My older GAP Crusader/Defiance Rebel would lock up at the mere sight of dust. It was a nightmare to run in PRS matches.
Impact isn't unique in handling the dust. ARC and Lone Peak are great for that as well in my experience. Ran my Mausingfield in match conditions that wasn't possible with my GAP Crusader. It eats the dust. Lone Peak is amazing as well for that.
LMAO that would be a hell of a squad to get in for your first match. Ive never got to squad with them but can’t wait until I do.
