I have seen some of the homemade guns that had been recovered from perpetually war torn areas of the world like the Dagestan region and Kashmir. A lot of innovative designs and made from all manner of hardware and electrical components.

Human innovation and ingenuity in times of need is absolutely remarkable and there is simply no way to completely eliminate this basic survival and adaptation trait. The folks living in those war ravaged areas who built all of these weapons to defend their homes done so using the most limited and rudimentary hand tools. Imagine what a first world organized crime syndicate, arms trafficker, or private militia/home guard force can do with state of the art tooling, CNC and other precision equipment, and specialized technical and engineering know how.

You know one thing people like that do that others don't? Go online and wish for a civil war or conflict despite having a single clue as to the effect it would have on our nation. Those people were born into war and have adapted (as have their children) to a war-torn poverty. That environment has fueled their innovation. Just as have IEDs have evolved overtime in those regions, their ability to utilize their supplies to counter our SOPs have evolved. You know who hasn't evolved due to a world of fuck/perpetual state of local-level all out war over the past ____ generations/eternity? Exactly. Yet you always read these comments talking about how they want a war/conflict. A fucking average 10yr old middle-eastern child would survive a CW longer than the average westerner. Hell 10yr old kids are running stores and negotiating deals better than used car salesmen in military towns at the age of 10. Their innovation stems from being born into the requirement to do so. That lost survival instinct and drive.

Regardless, we have all strayed a long way off from the initial posting. We've become desensitized to this kid of violence in our country. We immediately read/watch the news headline and race to post a comment/blog/article/press release/news conference about how this events means that we need more/less guns and how ____ politician(s) are coming/not coming for our rights. I've worked for the legislative branch of govt and that's probably why I don't give into the fear that surround the "libtard cucks coming for our guns/rights" movement. I've seen firsthand the workings of what goes on and understand how the system works, and I have to say... I'm not worried. That is why I don't let the media or politics influence my decision to own, buy, or sell firearms. On that note, I end with the following. Regardless of what plays out in the next 50 (ok who am I kidding, let's say the next 30 20 10 5 years of my life due to energy drink consumption and alcohol, I'm not going to let fear, from either side, influence the well-being of my family or my economic standing (until said energy drinks and alcohol does me in).

Had a car stolen in Fla many years ago, told LE about everything in the car. When I got a copy of the report many things were wrong. They recovered the car 5 days later, when to pick up the report, lady gave me the report with all info, (I was not supposed to see that one) there was a case of AA 12 gauge trap shells in the car when stolen yet it became a case of 00 buck. ^^Not so sure about that. Are you saying we should be like a hive...all serving the queen, or whoever is in charge? I thought combating that is why America was founded to begin with. My liberty takes precedence over any group, even if I have to live alone in the wilderness. A balance is needed and there in lies the very slippery slope.

If you step back an look at perception of the American way of life/dream you will see that trying to drive the economy (which is all consumer driven) or perception of same, if you do this you will get that, has drove many over the edge of sanity as normal people define it. However that all depends upon your perception of what is normal. Are those who can not protect, feed, house, repair most everything their self's,... normal,... not in my world. Could be the “everybody gets a trophy” mindset instilled over the past few generations? You can be below average and still be recognized.

I think the flaw in the overall thinking is that we can prevent these.
More laws is not the answer. You simply cannot legislate morality. Taking rights away or modifying even a perceived right carries a ripple effect that would be impossible to predict the ramifications of that legislative action.

Liberty and freedom carry inherent risk. Period. We assume those risks simply by living as we do. I believe these risks are not considered by most as things we are used to create blind spots. I.e. That’s the way we’ve always done it so the risk is ignored or potentially unseen or not considered. Then someone takes advantage of that unconsidered risk and we are shocked.

I like all but your last paragraph. The old people KNEW the risks, and i was taught the risks. Most of my redneck generation was taught the risks. Poor southern blacks were taught the risks from birth.

That may be the case at times but far more often I think it comes down to some sort of abuse (child) in the past, or some trauma that, like an untreated wound, festers and eventually explodes in ugly rage. That rage can literally become uncontrollable. In those cases it has nothing to do with entitlement.

Thats why its fortunate that I got 4F'd in 68. Ive seen through the shit you speak of and more for a LONG time. I had been to a few years of military high school and had nothing but problems. Even young I just had a lot of trouble tolerating stupid. One example, a bunch of the other students had made a mess at the end of the barracks. One of the new young officers, a buddy of the ones who made the mess, told me to go clean it up. "I didnt make that fucking mess, Im not gonna clean it up." Him-"I dont care who made it, you go clean it up...NOW." -Me "Fuck you"...straight ot he bull ring for a couple of weeks. Shake well and repeat. Still I tried to enlist. I would not have fared well in the actual military.

For years I tried to 'fit in' with little to no success. Finally I realized I just dont fit in so I stopped trying. Id rather just be alone than with people I dont respect or like. Its not that Im anti social, I jsut dont have social skills. The last party I went to was New Year's Eve several years back. Lots of people there and by 11:45 everybody had grouped up and was waiting for the ball to drop. I was standing against the wall alone and just fucking left.

In everything there is cause an effect. Most people concentrate on the effect instead of the root issue, hence why some things never change. I think that's a pretty dangerous concept, that leads to preemption, bans, then to excess, then to the police state we're already better (worse?) than halfway into.

We should be careful what we seek to eliminate, it usually becomes ourselves.

Yes, however even before that, I think a lot of this countries problems would be solved if the right to keep and bear arms wasn't just a right, but a requirement.

If Everybody, man, woman, responsible older child etc. had to carry a good knife, a good sidearm and a long arm with them or be subject to fines (unless they had a license not to carry), with training in their use, care and respect being mandatory in school. There would be a short period of adjustment where there was some violence and some accidents, then after that it would settle down quickly into a very civilized place where there was very little violent crime and a whole lot of folks being polite to each other. Probably wouldn't need a police force as much, just ones that investigate more devious crimes etc.

Well, I like the sentiment, but I think carrying a long arm everywhere is just plain impractical most of the time.

As for a license to not carry, that's another good idea; and I would go further, assessing a monthly fee to reimburse those responsible for dealing with the consequences of the subscriber's lack of responsibility.

You could just say having one nearby in your car, at work or home, would be good enough, just that you have one that you can get to quickly enough. Like you have to have it in the car with you when you are driving around. You want everyone to have to keep them around handy. A short barreled sub 5 pound AR with a folding stock isn't going to be a problem for just about anyone to carry in their car.

Let me for a mement drive the nail home on why this didn’t happen to the same degree before. Back when kids kept rifles in thier pickups parked at school.

Let me add that this is not a consequence but rather part of a deliberate plan.

Let's assume you think you are better and more intelligent than most of the humans on the planet and you should run the world and humans should be happy to do exactly what you say they should do and be happy to be good little communists, existing to serve the state (ie. you). So you can rule forever in glory, wealth and luxury as the undisputed rulers of the earth accountable to nobody.

It is exceptionally difficult to fully control a population that is free, armed and has deep seated morals governing their behavior.

So first get rid of the religion that the morals are based on.
Then erode the morals from hard absolutes to "let's be nice and accepting"
Then refuse to deal with criminals or the insane in the same false mantra of being "nice or accepting"
Stoke propaganda of hatred for others and your own desires being the only thing that matters
Then as is easily predicted crazy evil people can (or are manipulated into) do random horrible acts.
Propagandize slowly in tiny steps at a time that if people only gave up just a bit of freedom, "the government" can protect them from bad.
Slowly demonize not the people that do the bad things, but the tools they use.
Get the idiot public to start accepting restrictions on their ability to have weapons that individually can protect them and keep them free.
Once the idiot public starts swallowing the line you go into overdrive.
Make sure each random isolated horrible action by some nutjob is used to demand the removal of more freedom / tools.
Since people especially women seem to loose all sense of logic once you mention "the children" target the children with ever more violence to get control of the population with promises of "protecting the children" and silencing any dissent as "you must hate our precious children".
Eventually completely disarm the law abiding population.
Then set it up so the now disarmed and helpless population is threatened with ever increasing violence so they beg "the government" to "do something" to save them and their children from the criminals now running rampantly unstopped. (While surprisingly there are plenty of resources to stamp on anyone that tries to protect themselves or fight the plan).
Then for the final trick, using a combination of factors, such as disease, economic collapse, war etc. get the sheep to beg for anything at any cost to keep them safe.

Then offer them the "solution"... you'll fix all their problems and keep them perfectly safe... They just have to surrender all ideas of freedom and individual will to the all powerful state as the new god and be perfect little sheep doing as they are told to be good little producers for their masters and Done..

For someone who primarily relies on a motorcycle for personal commutes and road trips though, long arms will be out of the question. Even an AR pistol would present some issues due to limited storage space when factoring in other essentials, accoutrements, and gear that must be carried along the whole time. A .357 Magnum SAA inside locking saddlebags or rear storage box would be the go to for me on trips, in the event that my Glock 21 is not part of my personal wear already. It will still be easily accessible enough...
