Rifle Scopes ATPIAL/PEQ question on current gear

I was watching I think the army SNIPER edition on the military channel the other day and saw a damn cool piece of gear. It was similar in appearance to the ATPIAL, (Vis. laser, IR light and laser), but the speaker was stating that this device also functioned as a LRF. Does this exist? What is it? Who makes it? If it did all of these functions I could be solving many problems in one item. Thanks for any help. Jeff.

You are probably referring to the STORM AN/PSQ-23, which has IR and Vis laser pointers, an IR illum, LRF to 10Kand a digital magntic compass and inclinometer. There is no chance of these being available on the civilian market, as IR lasers of this type are tightly regulated by the FDA, since they are not eyesafe. I'm not sure many would pony up the 20K price in any event.

Thanks Cory, that's it. LE at least agency can usually acquire which is why I was looking. Fed grant money usually funds gear but that IS a big price tag!
