Re: ATTN: WYOMING SUPRESSOR OWNERS!!!!! UPDATE 3/9/12
SF 132 passed the House Ag Committee hearing this morning by a vote of 6-3.
Thanks to testimony from Shane Coppinger (whom I had NEVER seen in a coat and tie before) of Thunderbeast Arms in Cheyenne, Todd Rathner of the American Silencer Association and several other outstanding citizens who spoke on behalf of the bill, SF 312 moves to the Committee of the Whole TOMORROW on Wednesday Feb. 6, 2013. A time is not specified. The House AG Committee members will discuss their vote and make a recommendation to the Whole House on the bill.
This will be the First Reading. The House will have discussion on the Bill, allowing members to speak on recommendations for or against the bill as it stands, or to offer amendments.
We can expect that someone will offer an Amendment to only allow non-game and predators to be hunted with a suppressor, stripping game animals from the Bill. The WY G&F Wardens Association mounted considerable opposition to the Bill this morning in the AG Committee. Any Amendments will be voted on as well. The Bill could stand as written or with Amendments.
The next day, on Thursday Feb. 7, 2013 the bill will have its Second Reading in the House with the same process as before.
Finally, on Friday Feb 8, 2013, SF132 will have its Third Reading, the final one before it goes back to the Senate.
NOW,and THE NEXT THREE DAYS is the time we, YOU AND I, really need to make our voices heard if we want to change State law.
We want it to proceed with NO AMENDMENTS.
(AMENDMENTS MAY KILL IT.)
