No, the question was think of a color <span style="font-style: italic">AND</span> a tool.

That demands you to think of a color first, and then a tool, not think of a tool and what color it is.

The majority of the answers suggest something to the effect of picking a tool they've recently used and knowing what color it was.

The only thing this test proves here, is that the majority of those taking it can't follow directions.

Think about it........

Honestly though the calculations were unnecessary all it left me was thinking why the hell did I do that. I don't see how my thought process of color and tools is in any way what so ever dependent upon individual calculation.

You could ask me that question randomly and my answer would be the same because when i think color i think blue, and when i think tool immediate reaction is hammer.
