Hunting & Fishing Backpack for hunting/camping trips

First time to post in the area of forum, hope this is ok topic.

Got the wife to let me get the pack i'v been wanting for camping/hunting!

Wondering if anyone had already been using it. From what i'v heard and reading reviews it should be good. I went with the G4 operator just b/c of the more room in pack but almost got the gunslinger II. Hope to get by end of week. Does any the guys out there have one of these also?

I have one, and like you I chose between it and the Gunslinger. I love the Operator.

Where does the water bladder go? Is it between the main load and your rifle, or on the side?

I went from a GS II to a Dragonfly recently. Almost went with the Operator G4 but in the end the versatility and rigid frame inserts/carrying capacity of the Dragonfly suited me better. You'll like the Operator....Eberlestock makes a great pack....a little heavy but well thought and durable. The GS II was very good but too small for my use and for dual use as a hunting/backpacking bag you made a good choice moving up to the G4.

I use Mossy Oak brush and multicam in my 2 packs and they both work everywhere I hunt.

A 9# empty pack (about 3 times the weight of an empty expedition pack) is about brain failure, not muscle or gonadal failure... just sayin'

You could also ask Eberle outright if the packs are made in Vietnam.

They are heavy but I destroy regular packs. I have tried Kelty, Lowe, Northface, etc. over many years of backpacking and have not had good luck with durabilty. I like and use the scabbard function of Eberlestocks regularly and that is a selling point for me. Maybe I didn't try the right backpacking/expedition packs...all I know is Eberlestock works for me and they hold up very well for my uses. But you are right...they are heavy empty.
