I went with a 5.11 Rush12 and it has suited my needs. Granted i don't carry my entire gun room with me, just the bare essentials and something to clean with or disassemble in the event something goes wrong.

Anyone use the Tenzing Tactical Shooter's Pack (TT SP14)? Looks like it was a limited run/discontinued but is an interesting concept. Any opinions?
Just curious who uses the Eberlestock Halftrack? Seriously considering this as my next pack as the Rush 72 is way too big.
I've got a Kifaru, Xing 2700 ci, with the gun bearer. I haven't gotten to use it as much as I've wanted in the past two years. So not much of a review.
Their gun bearer is a unique way to carry the gun. I like it so far.
Not the cheapest option, but it is a quality product.

Mystery ranch 3 day assault pack held everything just fine for the SHC team challenge where we hiked 6-7 miles each day. Zero complaints
How did you attach your tripod to the pack?

I am wanting something in the small side to carry a Mini game changer, another bag (if needed), 100 rounds of ammo in a box or binder, small Borka tool kit, Kestrel, pens, notebook.
basically something for field day matches whereI don’t need to carry every dang thing like a normal range bag.
several GPS bags were present today and they looked nice for the compartments but they looked heavy and large.

I just yesterday picked up one of these. My load is similar to yours. I like that it is relatively normal looking for travel purposes.

I'm seriously eyeballing a Kifaru Shape Charge... At about 2,000 in³, I think it might be the answer for me.
I'm using basically an old 5.11 Rush 12 SOG clone and the 5.11 rifle scabbard which fits any pack with molle sides. Fits everything I need for an all day field match.
I have an Eberlesk H2 Gunrunner but this rifle doesnt fit the scabbard.

I should have clarified I do not needing it to carry the rifle. I’ll use a sling and lug that around.
So I shoot a lot of prs style matches and this is the pack I have gone to and the one I see a lot of competators going to. It’s not meant for rucking but for just going stage to stage it can’t be beat. Everything is organized and you can get to something easily without having a complete yard sale
I see a lot of those GPS bags too but they are big and they seem like they are just built to hold too much. I see people putting whole tool kits in them.
That's my problem with every eberlestock pack I've looked at. They're incredibly heavy compared to similar size packs.
I don't shoot prs yet but I go coyote hunting and take a London bridge reading company 3 day assault pack.

The 2 Day assault will more than likely be enough. I have a little leftover space in the 3 Day and also carry a TAB Gear Pollok shooting mat, which I ditch for comps, so there is more than enough room.
Not really. You would spend too much time packing it, and packing it, and having to haul it.

Damn! I knew Kifaru was gonna be expensive lol. Too much for me. I don’t shoot well enough to walk the prize table (yet) damn sure can’t justify that haha.
Kifaru is definitely a buy once, cry once type of purchase. I have run several X-Rays and Marauders in the past. I currently have another X-Ray, this time with composite stays and I love it.

Could you describe how you have yours set up? Like what compartments are used for what and anything you would change about it?
I went with one of these this week. Should be here in 4 weeks. Can't wait to test it out.
I'm also looking at the Kifaru Shapechange. Would love to see a side by side with the MR 3 day assault. Really wish the Kifaru had a hand grab on top of the pack. Can't believe it's missing that.

I am still thinking some of these EDC style bags are still too large. I mean realistically I want to carry as little as possible on a match where I am walking to stages.
I was wondering that. Doesn't seem like a very substantial hand grab. I'd prefer to see something more beefy and anchored more toward the rear of the bag closer to the straps. Those seem to be just stitched in the top of the lid and with the stitching in the center it seems it would be awkward to hold / hang.
Look at packs for photographers.... I switched to one of these because of how they load in 2 compartments... any pack will work thouhh

Used the original Gunslinger, Gunslinger 2, Lodrag, they are all decent packs. The last 5 or 6 years I have been using the Mystery Ranch 3dap, a world apart in quality and comfort.
If I cant use them for a handle I'll use them to hang my pint size GC and Fat Bag.
With regard to camera bags, I only have experience with a few of the Lowepro backpacks. I carry about $7-8k in camera gear in that backpack and while I feel it protects my camera for the situations I normally have my camera in I wouldn't put it in the same league as the bags we're discussing here. I would never use it for PRS gear and throw on the ground over and over etc. The materials don't feel that rugged. Maybe others are.

The one I bought has padding and allows better access. Really the gear we carry should be durable. The only thing I used to get squeamish about were my leica geovids.
Material aside i think the camera packs are better protection and better to organize. I despise the 1 large compartment that everything falls wherever in. YMMV

If you plan on using the scabbard to carry the rifle for long distances between stages then Eberlestock is where it’s at. If you don’t plan on using the scabbard for the rifle then go with something else. A 9 pound pack that carries the rifle and load well is going to be better than a six pound pack that doesn’t. The rifle is the single heaviest item you will carry in a match. Carrying it closest to your back is best.
For a match where you are only carrying shooting gear the LoDrag or Phantom is plenty. I carried a GSII for the 3 day Bushnell match last year and had extra room. My partner used a LoDrag. I may use my Phantom this year bitit is between that and a MR Overload. The position of a 19 pound rifle makes a big difference. Next to your back and centered versus 10” off your back and on the side or rear of a pack makes a big difference in how the weight feels.

I use compression bags, for traveling, and label each one. Not compartmentalized but easy to locate if labeled well and can be dumped, sorted through, and repacked quickly.
I'm not sure if this is how it will end up, but I throw things like keys, wallet, and phone on the top pocket, eye pro in one of the side pockets, everything else goes in the main pocket that zips wide open. Ammo on bottom, then bags, then glass. I envisioned using the bigger front pocket for tools, snacks, stuff you don't need at every stage. But I reserve the right to change my mind 17 times over the next year.
Last year I ran a eberlestock hispeed 2 and liked it, but a little small when I wanted to throw rain gear in. I had to hang my shooting bags on the outside as well.

I got one for my dad to hunt with as a gift and really liked it but I wanted some sort of frame. Ended up going with the new 22 mag Gen 2 since I love using their frame system with my woodsman pack.

I ghetto modded a Mystery Ranch frame on one and have been using that combo for a few years. Many miles logged on the lamborfeeties with that thing on my back.
