Ballistic Program

Re: Ballistic Program

I use knights armament BulletFlight on my iPhone... does the job, simple to use!

Have yet to try others, but based on the simplicity I would recomend using this program, or at least any other well known ballistics calc.

For the inputs that you need (FPS, BC, and weather conditions) it sure does pay off with valuable info.

I dont like to waste ammo trying to work out a drop chart... pfffffft come on, not with todays technology.

Re: Ballistic Program

I believe this is my first post but I have been reading on this website for over a year. I use Nightforce's ballistic program and a TDS Recon and it does a fantastic job and no worries about water or dropping it.

Re: Ballistic Program

I use KAC bullet flight because of it's three different input / output tables.

Simpe - roll the wheels to match distance to target / wind speed / wind direction

Advanced - input all fields: humidity, angle to target, distance, altitude, air pressure, wind speed / direction etc.. Will spit out ONE solution for given distance / weather.

Data card - same fields as above but will give you a reasonable drop chart out to however far you like (3km max) in increments down to 15 meters from memory.

Re: Ballistic Program

What about the new Ballistcomp by JBM anybody heard about that.

Btw, my buddy got Shooter it seems to be pretty good.

I'm using JBM very curious to see this Ballisticomp they are Beta testing now.

Re: Ballistic Program

Shooter - I love the automatic distance, elevation, temp, baro, humidity inputs.

I basically just choose my ammo and it populates the required fields using realtime weather updates via GPS location.

Re: Ballistic Program

I have a great EXCEL SS for ballistics. Very easy to use, etc. Problem how do I load the file to the site or PM for a copy. If you can host it (small) let me know.

Re: Ballistic Program

this is what was sent to me from a retailer for contact info hope this helps its all i have along with what i posted It is not something that we as a retailer have heard a release date on, you would want to give the manufacturer a call directly for that! To reach Nielsen Kellerman, call 1-800-784-4221 or to e-mail them, navigate to http://www.nkhome.com/contact.html.. They will be happy to help!

Re: Ballistic Program

Good Luck with Horus Vision! I was working with Larry on some bugs in the early programs and was dragged along for a while and now can't get him to email me or call me back. I was a big supporter of their program and really still am as far as function goes.

Customer Service has sucked ever since they went into the Military Contracting work.

Not saying it won't be great, but I'm not holding my breath for Larry Chao to call me back anymore.

I would got the Nielsen Kellerman route!

Re: Ballistic Program

My $0.02, I have been testing out the iSnipe and Ballistic: FTE (Field Tactical Edition) and although, both apps for the iPhone are excellent, at the end of of the day I am going with the Ballistic: FTE because of the additional features such as the range log which I absolutely LOVE.

+1 Ballistic FTE is an awesome program. The HUD is fast and easy to use. Literally every factory load I know is already preset in the load library

Re: Ballistic Program

i use KAC. very simple and fast to use. I had a friend with the HV scope and software system. I never got to use it but he was happy with the system. the Kestral / HV sounds interesting.

Re: Ballistic Program

I have KAC Bullet Flight. I also have experience with FTE. Bullet flight seems easier to work with when speed is an issue. I also like Bullet Flights lay out on the screen better then FTE. My only gripe about Bullet FLight is its lack of a serious library of different loads to work with. Other then that it has been great to me.
