Gunsmithing Bedding first rifle with pics

I was inspired by some of the other threads and gave it a try.

Its a Savage 10FP that has been rebarreled and a Bell and Carlson stock.

Here are some photos of the project. I used Devcon plastic steel putty which came highly recommended and was very easy to work with. The yellow you see is modeling clay to block out any areas that would be bad for the compound to get into. I thought about bedding in front of the recoil lug, but read mixed opinions and it can always be done later.

In one of the middle pics you can see where I drilled it repeatedly with a dremel carbide burr.

I was nervous about getting a mechanical lock if I did too much near the sides of the magwell. As I said, this was the first time and its easy enough to redo it if need be.

I would say if you take your time to setup, its not something you have to be skilled or experienced to do.
