I'm OK with people wanting to run in the streets with the bull, and taking their chances there. I'm not a fan of the ritual killing of the bull in the arena where the bull doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of surviving.
I really feel badly for the horses that occasionally get gored to death by the bull, because the horse is just trying to do what it's rider wants, and when it gets gored it is the unfortunate victim of the bull's anger. Watching one of the horses getting gored to death will turn damned near anyone against bull fighting.

I get more upset that when a Bull does get lucky and manages to win the fight, the stupid people get all mad at the bull and kill it & then want to go kill it's mother etc. and all that BS!
If the Bull wins, it should get a nice retirement, living out it's life in peace and plenty, covering all the cows it wants.
I'd kind of like to breed some overly strong, overly fast, overly aggressive bulls with extra intelligence and train them to fight & win, then swap them in secretly for the bullfights and stand back and see how the people like it when the odds aren't stacked in their favour.

Make the bullfighters play an even game. Get rid of the spear tips before the fight and make him fight a bull that can actually lift his head
The Spanish bullfight is pretty much a pagan religious rite that has survived Spain's 800 years of Judeo-Moorish influence, and 600 years of practically institutionalized Catholicism. Not understanding it is a bit like non-gunnies not getting us. The matador runs certain risks, which is only appropriate and part of a kind of socioreligious contract in return for a better lifestyle than he might otherwise have.
Worked around a few bulls in my time.
They are much faster than most will/would believe.
Always had my respect and I never once turned my back on them.

I am in total agreement with you. I didn't watch the videos, but several years ago there was a video posted on here where the horse was hit in the side and knocked over. At that point the bull just shredded his guts. Horse couldn't do anything. That video bothered me. That horse was just doing what his master trained him to do. His master sacrificed him for foolish joy. As someone who uses horses as tools on my ranch it didn't feel right. Wish I had never watched it. Bad thing is it probably wouldn't have bothered me if the rider would have been the one gored.
Why is that bad?
I have no sympathy when a person does something deliberately stupid and gets hurt. To me, it's even worse when they are doing it for "likes" on a social media page.
Totally agree. What those guachupines do in their own country with their own bulls is their business.
I have seen a horse gored by a bull, never want to see it again. Sometimes on the ranch shit happens but was still really pissed that the guy on the horse put himself and his horse in that situation. That being said I know what its like to have the snowflakes of this world trying to dictate what is appropriate and what isn't in our daily operations. Live and let live, do I like this crap, absolutely not, but if I can dictate what they can and can't do then what is next? Very slippery slope. Sorry for the soapbox rant.
Why didn't the tail grabber kick that bull in the bean bag? That would have gotten his attention real quick!
I saw that one too, and I guess that is where much of my anger comes from. The horse didn't deserve to die like that.
