PRS Talk Best 6mm creedmore bullet for Prs style shoot

I just bought a MPA rifle throated for 108gr eldx bullets. Just curious what everyone is using and what load if you wouldn't mind sharing your recipe. Thanks

I’ve shot a few thousand 108’s with no issues. Recipe depends if you are chasing speed or not. The 108’s seem to like to be jammed. In the past I’ve run them between 3000-3050 with 40-41g of H4350. Just got a new barrel and going to go for a slower node.

I’ve had great results with 105 hybrids and the 110 SMK’s.

Have been up to 3080 with the 110’s and the 105’s can hit 3200fps with relative ease out of a 26” barrel if you want to run them that fast.

Precision was excellent with both upper nodes, sub .3moa and std. dev. was under 5fps.

I've been running the 108s for a while now. While I did discover they shoot well jammed, they have shot just as well for me at .020-025" or more of jump. 108s over 41.xgr of H4350 has been giving me 3020-3080 depending on the lot of powder with Hornady brass and Tula LR primers, and I consistently get single digit SDs and groups at 100 of .5 or better.
I switched away from the 105 Hybrids a little over a year ago, as I found the availability was too spotty. I also saw changes in dimensions between lots (never seemed to change accuracy, at least). Interestingly enough, I have gotten better groups across the board with the 108s than I ever did with Hybrids, and much better results down range in terms of both groups and elevation consistency.

I’m seeing just the opposite. The 108’s would group just a shade under an inch, and the Berger’s are ragged holes. I’m a bit sour on the 108’s now. If you want 1700 108’s for a good deal, PM me lol.

Sounds like you need to work up a better load for the 108s. They shoot great at .020" off and that is where I would run them for PRS matches. I would never jam a bullet for this shooting as reliability is key and when you jam it opens up issues and also when you have to unload to having a bullet stuck in the lands and a bunch of powder in your action. Saw it this past weekend at a match. Never found an ELD-M or AMAX that didn;t shoot at .020" off or even farther. Factory 108 ELD ammo in my 6 Creed is jumping .020" and very accurate.

I learned about how they run jammed purely by accident after screwing up the measurements. That said, I've shot groups just as good with them .020-025" off like you said as I did with them .005 in. I did discover, however, they do not like to be close-but-not-in - between .000 and .015 wasn't very good at all.

I tried jammed 10thou, touching, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 100 off. This barrel hated them. Burgers make ragged holes. It happens, sometimes a barrel just doesn’t like a bullet.

A 6BR or BR style rifle?

If in a Creedmoor that is way too short of a freebore with the 108. It works great with the .183 SAAMI freebore.

I have shot probably 15k 105 Hybrids (Bergers) in the last 2-3 years. Great shooting bullets, but sometimes have been hard to get as mentioned above. It was like they were made for Dasher or BR, and are the standard.

I have also shot the 110 SMK's, which shot great when they first came out, but had random flyers in later lots (similar findings with other shooters I talked with). I just got in some golden tips - I mean 110 A-tips to try out.
