I'm looking at my first suppressor and am torn between the tbac and omega. The reason for the indecision is bc I plan on running it on and AR, dasher, 6.5creedmoor and .308. Can the that handle ar15 abuse? I don't do mag dumps and shit. But I do run drills that have a higher rate of fire. Old USMC drills to keep things fresh in my mind. Any help is appreciated

I have an Omega and am not unhappy with it. My next can will be a TBAC though. Do some looking here and on the webz for the cores of Omegas slipping. I haven't had it happen, but I'm running it on a bolt gun. Also, I finally pulled off all the brake/QD stuff and went direct thread.
I heard that a few times now of the omega having issues. My buddy is going through that with surefire right now and I'm trying to avoid it. He is back on the tax stamp wait bc they couldn't fix his. Had to repay the 200 and the whole thing. Freaking sucks.
A TBAC ultra 7 will work better than anything. You could even get away with the ultra 5
Yep. I use the area 419 hellfire self timing brakes and their direct thread adapters on everything. Never once has a thunderbeast moved.
As long as you are not going through multiple mags very fast titanium will be fine.
I'd strongly consider the Dead Air Nomad if I was only planning on buying one suppressor to cover all of my centerfire needs.
I went with a Sandman K for my AR and it's been great. No noticeable changes in back pressure. Nice and short, but certainly not the quietest out there. I'll be adding a Nomad soon. I think it'll be primarily used on my bolt gun, but it'll also provide more suppression for my AR rifles as well.

SiCo has a great, hard earned/well deserved reputation for taking care of their customers. So if there were any issues, I'm sure you would be taken care of.
I know it's heavy as balls, but I love my Specwar 762 to death. I bet you can pick those up pretty cheap these days.
TBac Ultra 7 .30 cal. The 6.5 version would be slightly quieter but wouldn't work on the .308

I’ve got a bunch of cans in jail right now including three TBAC ultra’s, an Omega 300, and some others. The most interesting one to me is the energetic armament Vox. 6” long/12.2 oz in direct thread config and without the wipe(which is included). It’s full auto rated through .308 win, and zero barrel length restrictions up to 300 RUM. You can also use it with a laundry list of mounts including Q, dead air, Sico, and it comes with soft vice jaws for swapping mounts if needed. All that for $640. I bought mine in stock at Hansohn bros with a Key-mo mount. I’m far from a suppressor expert, but this seems like a lot of can for the money. They also serialize them on a small ring at the rear of the can, which is removable by them. So if you were to yardsale it all over the range, they can fix it.

I'll throw out some rough numbers/insight from practical experience and a bit of audio engineering background . Any corrections from others is welcome.
if something is twice as loud, or half as loud, that's perceived to be about 10db. Make something half as loud, then halve that, halve it again and you're at 30db. These cans will probably do a bit better than that. They also change the tone of the sound.
The smallest detectable change in volume is about 1 db. 3 db is noticeable. I'm pretty sure going from a 7" -9" reduces the perceived boom/crack by about 3db. If your shooting a 6.5mm projectile, going from a .30cal to the smaller diameter 6.5mm might be another ~3db. So on a given rifle, a 9" 6.5 will be around ~6db quieter than it's 7" counterpart. The 6.5mm isn't just the endcap/orifice - it's the smaller baffle stack all through the can.
I shoot a 6br off with a 9" 6.5 ultra on a 26" barrel, usually off a bench or my jeep's shooting table. That length puts the muzzle way out there with less ground reflection because of the height. It's pretty quiet. The 7" gives up a few db, but you're already 30+ db quieter. The .30 cal version means you can put it on your AR .300BLK.
Compromises
I own 3 omegas and 2 TBACs. No issues with either. For strait precision rifle shooting TBAC is the way to go, however if you’re planning on running it on an AR then go with the Omega. I had an Omega blow off the end of my AR and silencerco fixed the issue and had it back to me in less than a week. It was the first Omega that I purchased. The silencerco rep I spoke with acknowledged the issues that they had with the early versions on the ASR punting systems and that they had since fixed it. The last 2 omegas o got have had zero issues and I have a few buddies that also got Omegas and have not had any issues.

The ASR is still a less than stellar mounting system. I’ve had multiple versions both new and old. The Omega is a decent can in direct thread configuration or using th Key Mo or Q adapters. It’s weakness is still it’s weakness. It’s not a very robust can.

Only crazy thing I've read so far in this thread is the guy saying SureFire is the best overall can hands down. That's a bold (and somewhat ludicrous!) statement. They have big gov't contracts (not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make a difference how much money you have rolling in and where it's coming from) and aren't big fans of fixing their own cans if they can pawn it off on being your fault it got dinged. But if you like overpaying for stuff and think it's cooler because the military uses it (not that the operators have much choice in the matter) then for for it.

I'm hearing good things about dead air. My buddy has the sandman and he has nothing but good things to say. I may look at those options too. It's hard to make a decision having not used any. Wish there was a demo or something to test a bunch and see which ones you like.
IMO, the best all around can is the KAC QDC. I had to own one though to come to that conclusion. I could go on about why but if you're serious about getting one I can lay out the details. But you can't use smaller calibers in the 7.62 can I'm pretty sure.

Does amazing custom work too and can index the can TDC to the barrel or the mount.
Sico Saker is another good one. Not lightweight, but it's built like a tank using Stellite no less, that's the shit that's used to line M2HB barrels! I also heard the 7.62 can is quieter than the 5.56 can that I have. Smaller rounds through larger cans will also have a deeper, throatier sound. This is a plus to most folks. Also you can get different end caps for the Saker, different size holes but also "tools" like breaching standoffs, etc. It's QD and locks up SOLID. My 5.56 can works pretty well, no complaints. You may want one of these even if you get something else later. Which you will. They don't call it "stamp collecting" for nothing.
Prices on the Saker also aren't too bad and you may be able to find one on sale now, maybe later --I understand they're gonna do the big sale like last year again. Silencer Shop ran one sale, Sico the other. You could wind up with 3 cans for the price of two or a free .22 can, which you're gonna want ASAP because you can use 'em anywhere, even inside or in the backyard. My .22 stuff gets used more than anything else.

Yes, but not by a whole lot. It's noticeable, sure, but if you really need to hang onto those two inches, the 7" ain't bad. I went 9" and 5". There's certainly a difference there and I can go long or short, my choice.
Cannot go wrong with TBAC. I love the 3 I have and wish I had more! The 6.5 specific can is really for Creedmore but the 9" can is AMAZING on the Grendel!
Also keep that sale in mind. If you can get a Saker and a free .22 can, I'd do that instead. THEN save up for the TBAC. Wanna say they were selling Sakers last summer for what, $500? $600? Whatever it was it was a killer deal.
Ask yourself how often you'll need to get your can glowing hot. It's probably not that often. I'd totally start with a thunderbeast ultra 9 and get a 556-sd later to abuse with your AR. You can still run the ultra on your AR in the meantime. And i'm here to tell you, you will LOVE the ultra 9 on dasher. Silly quiet.
The Saker is a pretty decent can, but with complete crap mounting options. The Trifecta that it was originally designed with was a miserable failure. The ASR replaced it pretty quickly, but it’s far from perfect. Carbon locking and and locking teeth not engaging are common issues. The good news is SiCo will take care of it. I’ve got a single digit serial numbered Saker 556, so I’ve had plenty of time behind one. The can itself is solid. If you choose to go this route the go with a competitors mounting system for it.

I have a few 30 caliber cans and the TBAC 7 is my favorite. I do not regret the length. It's the sweet spot I believe. Honestly I'd probably pick the 5 before I'd go with a 9. It seems as quiet as my Crux/TTF 9" or my AAC Cyclone and the weight is nice. No way I'd go back to a steel can for a precision rifle. I really can't see a reason I'd ever buy a steel can again, period. I don't have anything full auto and I have a 556 Specwar for anything high volume. The TBAC 7 knocks down my 24" 28 Nosler monster to less than a .22. It's a very versatile option. Whatever you do, get a brake mount. The big advantage in my mind is that the threads are protected from damage when the can is not on, and it would be very difficult to cross thread the can on. It's also nice to have the reduced recoil in the off chance I want to shoot without the can.
I haven't been able to kill my SS YHM Phantom but it's heavy. Will pull the trigger on it's titanium cousin after the move. Countless .300Win mag to AR/Gas Gun runs through that can with zero issues. Again, it's heavy and a weapon in and of itself but the price was right and quality has been very good.
I wish! It's a bitch to shoot since it was set up as a hunting rifle and has a pencil barrel. With a brake it's not terrible, but that can adds back probably 20% but really slows it down. It's a long hard push. Like a fat guy shoving you in your shoulder to knock you off balance. I was referring to the sound. I've had rando's at the range sitting right next to me say that it sounds like a .22 and I agree. It's right about the same as my 10/22. Not super quiet, but my ears don't ring shooting it either, and that's about the most gun it's ever going on and right at the limit of what TBAC recommends for the can. On a 6.5 Creed or 308 it's quieter. If you get a chance to handle a rifle with a steel can vs. Ti, do yourself a favor and try aiming them offhand, etc. The balance is fucked with a steel can especially some of these 30 oz beasts people are using. The TBAC is impressive in how light it is.

What does your rifle weigh? I’m about to build a 28 in a switch barrel setup, and trying to figure where it’ll be weight wise. I’m thinking a 9-9.5 lb rifle will be the sweet spot for ease of shooting, and still be able to pack it somewhat. It’ll run a shorter lighter Proof barrel in 6.5 PRC for when weight matters more.
I'll weigh it if I remember today, but I know it's right around 10 pounds. I have a Leupold Mk AR 3-9x40 (about 13 oz) and an MDT HS3 chassis with Luth buttstock. Barrel is a #3 I believe and a Tikka action. The only place I could save weight at this point would be a carbon stock of some sort, but I like the adjustability of the chassis.

I run a surefire Socom SPS300. I use it on my full auto .300 BO, my semi auto 5.56 rifle. and my Remington 700 in .308. At 800 yards I see no POI shift with the suppressor using my .308. I am running the Surefire warcomp muzzle device, and I require 0 scope correction going from unsuppressed to suppressed. My zero on my 5.56 and .300BO at closer ranges also need no correction when going to the suppressor.

Why not the SiCo hybrid? It's a fantastic suppressor. Also check out the SiCo Specwar 7.62 for some really good performance at a fantastic price.
The Mack Brothers MB762 or MB762L are great all around cans. I’ve been running an L on ARs, M1As and bolt guns for a few years now and it’s done well on all of them. It doesn’t give anything up in the precision role.
Lots of great suggestions here! You will find yourself planning the next silencers soon after you get the TBAC, if not already. Pick which rifle has priority then buy for that. There are so many good options, it may help to focus on the specifics such as mounting options, length, weight among others.

Allen..... I'll have my Omega and Hybrid along this weekend, you can try both if time permits. My omega has every bit of the precision that my rifle can offer. It's short, relatively light and does a good job with suppression. The Hybrid is a bit longer and heavier, but also does a good job. I use either on my 260, 300WM and AR's and feel no loss in suppression or accuracy. The Omega can be had for decent prices. I've had my Omega fully apart several times for cleaning, and there doesn't seem to be a way that a fully welded baffle stack can slip, but what do I know?
Just and FYI, the Omega has an internal stack of fully welded baffles, with internal threads on both ends and an external thread on the "IN" end. The external thread accepts the serialized sleeve on the outside. I suspect this is so that, in the event of internal failure, they can simply remove the serialized sleeve and insert a fresh core with very little down time. The "IN" end accepts either direct thread modules or the ASR mount, along with the AREA419 or Q mounts. The "OUT" end accepts the flat caliber specific cap or the Anchor Brake, which is indeed effective at reducing the recoil without increasing the sound signature.
It has been my experience that TBAC's manufacturing and QC are head and shoulders above the other cans mentioned. I haven't owned a KAC or Surefire, but I do own 6 TBACs, 2 Dead Air (Sandman S and K) and 1 SilencerCo Hybrid. Of these, the TBAC fit and finish is much nicer. Their customer service is stellar and my 30P is up in Cheyenne for a recore right now.
If you want a robust 30 cal QD can that you can put full auto mag dumps through, then the stellite Sandman is good to go. The penalty you pay is weight and a few more decibels.
My SiCo Hybrid had an inner sleeve separation, which involved fixing with some Rocksett. I bought it to suppress 444 Marlin and 45/70. It is a very flexible suppressor that can accept a whole host of adapters and endcaps, but I wasn't overwhelmed with its fit and finish.
As HansohnBrothers (great to deal with, BTW) said, prioritize your needs and pick the suppressor that best fits your requirements (mounting system, weight, durability, precision). If you try to find the 'one can that does everything' you may not be totally happy in the end, and buyer's remorse sucks after a 9 month wait.
