IMO, the best all around can is the KAC QDC. I had to own one though to come to that conclusion. I could go on about why but if you're serious about getting one I can lay out the details. But you can't use smaller calibers in the 7.62 can I'm pretty sure.
TBAC is the best when it comes to precision and Ti cans. Peerless. The Ultra 9 is just a badass and the Ultra 5 is probably the best shorty can available. The mounts are nice and essentially like an improved direct thread. I'm not sure how it'll fare with 5.56 in 'em though, you'll wanna ask. I'm sure it'll be fine but not that sure. You could also get one now, then later get a caliber specific one and not have to change out the mounts.
Elite Iron makes a 316 SS can similar to TBAC. They mount in a similar fashion and should have similar results. Heavier due to SS, probably not as heavy as you think though, but also less expensive. They make the brakes for McMillan rifles and the suppressors for DTA as well as a host of alphabet soup agency contracts. Does amazing custom work too and can index the can TDC to the barrel or the mount.
Sico Saker is another good one. Not lightweight, but it's built like a tank using Stellite no less, that's the shit that's used to line M2HB barrels! I also heard the 7.62 can is quieter than the 5.56 can that I have. Smaller rounds through larger cans will also have a deeper, throatier sound. This is a plus to most folks. Also you can get different end caps for the Saker, different size holes but also "tools" like breaching standoffs, etc. It's QD and locks up SOLID. My 5.56 can works pretty well, no complaints. You may want one of these even if you get something else later. Which you will. They don't call it "stamp collecting" for nothing.
Prices on the Saker also aren't too bad and you may be able to find one on sale now, maybe later --I understand they're gonna do the big sale like last year again. Silencer Shop ran one sale, Sico the other. You could wind up with 3 cans for the price of two or a free .22 can, which you're gonna want ASAP because you can use 'em anywhere, even inside or in the backyard. My .22 stuff gets used more than anything else.
Well, those are my suggestions. I'd probably go with the Saker to begin with, then later get a TBAC can for your tack drivers. Elite Iron could also get you started for a lower price with zero loss of quality, just an increase in some weight.
