Best Damn Gun Chassis

I...can't get behind the thing as a mega awesome sort of growth in the state of the art. Its $1k, it solves no problems that exist in the existing chassis land I can see...

I would get an MDT ESS or a CADEX or an anything else first.

So many other chassis systems I would buy over this. Hard to beat MPA. I have an MPA and an XLR. love them both. KRG's are sweet as hell too.

What the heck's going on with that scope rail?

So what makes another chassis that uses an AR buttstock, AR grip, and forend tubes that are nothing special the "Best Damn Gun Chassis"?

If a complete chassis cost what they price just the action block portion at they'd probably sell but I just don't see them selling many at all at current pricing. There's nothing special about it and theres chassis for the same or less money that offer more. MPA, MDT ESS, and KRG all come to mind for chassis' I'd rather own.

I agree. They are expensive for what you get. You could buy an element w/buttstock in some instances for ALMOST the price of just the aluminum block.

So they basically put the bolt action in the center of the AR handguard which necessitates the use of an obscenely high rail or an AR scope mount just to clear the handguard. However they keep the stock at the same point below the action to ensure you use the maximum cheek adjustment on your adjustable stock. As a bonus you also get to mimic a giraffe.

MPA is vaporware with "8-12" week lead times that are actually over 7 months. Plus crappy CS. FYI.
Unless you do the smart thing and buy one from any number of dealers that have them in stock. The quantity of MPA stocks and rifles that show up at matches I attend would attest to the opposite of your opinion.

I would have to disagree with that statement about CS, I emailed Phil Cashin with a question regarding the BA chassis not expecting an answer for atleast a couple days and had a reply almost immediately after 10pm no less.
He answered all of my questions in a polite and generous fashion with a quickness not allways found in the industry.
As far as lead times go any quality product in high demand will incur long waits, try and order a Manners or McM stock and get it right MEOW.

Not my experience when weeks after advertised delivery goes by with no word on actual delivery date.

Anyone know of, or have heard anything about these chassis? http://bestdamnguns.com/

Like the concept but the execution needs to be more refined, especially for the price. I'd love to have a nice simple chassis base that would take AR stock/grip/handguard. Make use of some of those old parts and stick one of the many 700 barreled actions I've accumulated over the years.
