Looking for a good quality, smaller spotting scope that I can pack with me to my long range deer hunting stands. Shouldn’t need huge magnification, maybe something in the 15-40ish range. Would like to have sharp glass for spotting mirage, hits on paper, decent in low light hunting, etc. Also trying to stay within 1200 dollars budget or so. I know, asking a lot here. But do any of you know of a scope that fits most of the above criteria? Thanks.

Take a look at the Athlon Optics Cronus 12-36x50 ED Spotting Scope which we have on sale, reduced from $699.99 to only $499.99

Doug, that sounds like a nice scope. How does it compare to something like a mid range Kowa scope or the smaller Vortex Razor? As far as clarity and sharpness, low light performance, etc.
