Guys,

I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what stock to order for my hunting rifle build. Have a #3 barrel, will be short action model 70, and I've considered Sako Classic, Manners SL, McM hunters edge, etc. Like a straight comb that is fairly high and want a handy rifle, not one set up for prone or the bench - slimmer forend, etc.

Would be great to get some opinions, and ideally pics, from guys that have gone through the same thought process. Can't be the first to do a build like this.....

Thanks very much for any ideas, opinions.

Damn, I've been sick for a week and am out of it. Put up a similar thread a couple of weeks ago in hunting and fishing and forgot. Sorry guys, my bad. Other thread generally favored the Manners SL.

The hunters edge has a decent amount of drop at the comb. Depending on what kind of scope and amount you run, it can be an issue. The manners SL has a cheek piece, and quite a bit of drop too. I have owned both of them. The sako hunter is an excellent pattern, but I really like manners new elite hunter offering. Plus, manners is hard to beat as a company

The McMillan Hunter/ Sako Hunter is a very nice hunting stock. Has a taller comb and cheek piece, slight palm swell and a bit of cant in the back end. Fits me like a glove. Have 2 and would do another. #3 Bartlein is about as heavy a barrel it will take.
