Best tool to deprimer Lake City brass?

I watch Tv with massive boxes of range pickups and pretend i’m a crab, you’ll understand once you use it.

Use a bin for deprimed brass just let the primers fall into the bin with the uncapped brass.

Some brass is a struggle to hit the hole if it’s burred and has a small hole, I’ll toss them. Quality brass has less issues, though. It’s not super fast but doesn’t make you sit at a press, I don’t imagine it’s much slower from using a press decapping die.

i vote mighty armory as well. the pin is way stronger than the dillon ones. i have a mk7 on a 1050 dedicated head for prepping brass, and the dilllon pin would sometimes break or bend. moved over the mighty armory one and after about 25k brass still running strong no issues.

Agreed. I have a Dillon decapping die that I have replaced the rod and pins multimple times. Everything inside of the die is made out of pot metal. The MA decapping die is tapered and small mouth brass such as 223 slide over it in my 650. Even the Lee decapping die is better made than the Dillon but the pins aren't tapered to fit the rod and can get hung up on 223.

I’ve been running Mighty Armory Magnum decapping dies for years. My other brands collect dust. I first learned about them running the local machine gun range ammo plant. If they can hold up to all-day repeated abuse from autodrive presses, then they’ll last a lifetime in a single or residential hand-operated progressive unit, if setup properly.

When it comes to de/priming mil brass, I recommend a strong decapping die for your single-stage press, and then an RCBS crimp cutting tool. Has worked great for me for well over a decade. Then future deprime and priming of that brass is normal.

What is the best tool for de priming lake city 223 brass (for conversion to 300 BLK)? I have been using a Lee de priming pin and a 4lb sledge hammer. Put the casing in the #4 shell holder. Set and hold on steel bench plate. Insert the pin into the primer and tap it out with the hammer. You can do about 70 a minute or so. Bought a Lee universal decapper to see if it could be easier and faster. Popped the die's pin out on the first casing. Back to the hammer. Can't afford a Dillon 600 so used the Lyman multi-tool to de crimp the case. Since I am chopping the neck off the case i don't have or want a 223 full length case sizing die. Any better ideas?

Adjust your Lee decapper correctly, make it tighter, and by tighter, I mean tight with two wrenches tight. Theres a few companies who sell aftermarket decapping pins for their die as well. I have some hardened ones for my 9mm and 223 setups. They're also knurled so you get a lot stronger hold when you tighten down the locking nut on top.

70 a minute? So you're taking out a case from the shell holder, putting in a new case, putting the pin inside the case, tapping it with a hammer, and then repeating....all in under 1 second? Must have some quick hands lol...

I've deprimed thousands of cases on my press using the universal Lee die. Military cases are not a problem with it. I broke one pin in all that time. That case had a small piece of pea gravel in it.
