Big changes at TAB GEAR

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations! I've been a TAB Gear groupie ever since I bought a sling and rear bag from Rifles Only. Looking forward to seeing whatever new stuff you're working on. Keep up the good work.

Congrautlations and best of luck. And as a repeat customer of your I have confidence that you will make it. You guys make top notch products that no one else keeps pace with. Thanks for being a USA company and doing it right.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Good news, I'll have to admit I was a bit worried at the thread title also. I've heard nothing but good things about your stuff and am awaiting a rear bag and rbs from Triad at the moment. Looking forward to the big brown truck showing up one of these days. Thanx for the sacrifices.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Tony, congrats and best of luck to your family and your full time business at TAB. I know LH Gina and I love our slings and rifle covers. Keep up the good work and fantastic products.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

A heads up on the new product line would be great. I'd be willing to defer some purchases if I can get them from TAB instead in the near future.

Congrats on the new direction in life, your commitment and past efforts are inspiring.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

As a retired enterpreneur, I have some advice.

You've made the leap onto the lilly pad. Good stuff, especially in this economy.

Bear in mind that economies change, and that the next big step on the road to success will be when you expand to meet a burgeoning market. This is not a simple task, and needs to approached with careful thought and research. This is the place where many younger and otherwise successful companies tend to implode. Study successful companies' histories, like Barrett, etc.; paying attention to how they accomplished that crucial evolution.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congrats and good luck in the future. I currently own a TAB sling and Biathlon sling. When my varmint rifle gets back from the gunsmith in a few months I will be ordering one more of each now just to show my support. I would love to see a stock pack with a cutout that will allow my QD push button swivels on my slings to attach to the stock. Right now I have my stock pack pushed way forward in order to access the side QD socket. Just a thought for you.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Thank you again everyone for the well wishes and continued support.

Pat, you're right sir, America does Rock! I'm grateful every day I get up and put my flags on the pole.

Since I've been asked several times recently for an idea of what we're working on.

First is a stock pack, I'm really debating whether or not to even have a pocket on it too. I've got stock packs on all of my rifles and have had dope cards and tools in the pocket of every one for years, and have never had to use any of it. Also with the detachable mag systems everyone is going to I'm debating whether it even needs shell loops too. I've had several people ask for a stock pack that has the lammy suede on both sides so you have the same cheek weld for shooting on either side. With our Sling Thing tool pouch you can still carry your scope tools on the sling. Just thinking out loud here, it may have a pocket after all, who knows.

The second thing is a AICS mag pouch. We designed a mag pouch for a company that was open topped with the bungee retention like lots of people use, except we designed it so you could get a mag back in one handed. It came out good and I'll be redesigning it for the AI mags. It'll be designed so that the AW 10 round mags will fit it too. It may have an option of attaching a flap closure too.

So there's a couple of things. Both of these are not in production at all yet, still getting designs worked out so please don't call Lisa wanting to purchase them. There'll be plenty of notice when they come on the market, and there'll be plenty of stock built up before hand too.

One other person that I neglected in my original post when I was thanking everyone for all the support over the years who has been extremely instrumental in the growth of TAB GEAR. I don't know how I did but I forgot to thank Frank, Lowlight, owner of the Hide here. Frank has been there from day one with suggestions, testing, input, promoting, and taking pictures for us. Thanks a lot for all of your help Frank, I've really appreciated everything you've done for me over the years.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend.
