Don't believe it - I can see the powder burns where you shot that at about 5 feet from the muzzle

A great group, but I don't think there going to out perform the 7mm 180vlds. jus sayin.

Re: Bighorn Palma 223

not too bad.. where did the other 10 shots end up?

X-count I shoot palma with a 7WSM in NRA sanctioned matches, Palma is not limited to .223 and .308. F-Class open rifles get to play in Palma matches. There is an F-Class group set aside for .223 and .308, called TR - stands for traditional rifle, but they are looking to potentially exand and add a class for tactial rifles - only in the discussion stages so far.

Each stage is 15 shots for record, the sighters vary with distance (800 - unlimted, 900 - 2 sighters, 1000 2 sighters.)

Re: Bighorn Palma 223

Just because the course of fire is the same as Palma does not make it Palma. If your running a scope your not in a Palma match. Just shooting the same course of fire. Scope/rests are about as far from Palma as a shooter can get. sorry, Palma shooters use slings and iron sights.

Palma is iron sights only, .308 or .223 only, NRA and Int'l rules differ on bullets allowed but it's only .308/.223. .223 is a recent addition.

Palma shooting is more about the rifle and cartridge not just 800/900/1k. Some NRA LR (1k only) matches have a Palma class so the purists can compete with each other, instead of against the barrel burners. Palma is about shooting a old, ballistically challenged cartridge off a sling with irons.

I guess you did word it right though, your just playing.

Re: Bighorn Palma 223

zoom in on the pic of the target, slight yaw in holes. 24.9R15, BR4, Lapua brass. 7.7 twist Krieger. Had a Savage Palma 223 last year and decided the floating bolt head was the key. Bighorn action improves that principle with super tight tolerances and alignment.
