I've heard several times now, that people miss their tempest. That's what I have now and the only action I have any real experience with. What made you sell it?

TL3: Like your electric model train going down the tracks, clicking and clacking so loud you can hear it across the house.
Surgeon: Like someone is banging a nail with a hammer, because only Neanderthals still use these
Defiance: Like two finely machined surfaces sliding against each other, making no noise... until dust gets in there and it stops moving.
Impact: Bolt lift is like someone dragging their fingernails across a chalk board, then it basically resembles a surgeon because that's really what it is
Curtis: Doesn't cycle, usually the mags are too high to allow the bolt to move.
Remington: Imagine dragging a piece of pipe across concrete, until the bolt handle snaps off.
Savage: Identical to a TL3, except with slightly better tolerances and more innovation.
Tempest: I've never actually been able to cycle one, the bolt lift is too heavy
Stiller: You can't actually hear it cycle because their owners are yelling "why the f*ck isn't this thing working" the entire time
Kelbly: They should just stick to f class
Borden: Similar to Stiller, you can't actually hear it cycling because their owners won't shut up about how awesome they are.

While i agree that any action can be bound if you go off axis enough, i would still say it's more easily induced on a TL3 than any other custom i've used. It was nowhere near as forgiving as my Tempest. I haven't gotten my damn Impact barreled yet (PVA wait times) but just in hands and having handled a friends it's still harder to bind than a TL3. We've still got two of our three bighorns so i'm not necessarily knocking them, ease of use for a switch barrel rig is sort of unrivaled even at this point. That said it was bothersome enough for me on my TL3 that i switched to a 737R. I still love the Bighorn bolt lift for a 2-lug it's one of my favorites. I also love my brothers Origin.
How long is the PVA wait time for a barrel? Wonder if you can cancel and just get one off the shelf from Altus, or order from Stuteville, Gradous, etc.
I don’t remember what the quote was but been waiting since November 24th and some are still waiting since August. I think we were told 3 months? I figured 6 months or more given my friends experiences. But it was hard to pass up price wise.
It's way cheaper than Gradous. You'd have been shooting it for 6 months and be ready for another one.
I've heard the same thing. Those that I know that have experience with both, including two top-10 PRS gunsmiths and shooters, prefer the Lone Peak Fuzion over the Impact.
Both good actions, but I find it very interesting how much little you hear of the Lone Peak versus the Impact. Either way, you know you are getting a good action.

Exactly what Sheldon said. You would have made him a barrel and had him burning up ammo in no time. 100% a compliment.
The problem is these are all approx. 1,500-ish or less. Any Snipershider that's tactical AF knows you can't even touch a decent piece of glass for under $2k and really more like $2.5k. So let's all hold off on purchasing any more of these beginner model actions.

I should stick to building Rifles because of my poor reading skills.
I guarantee if the Impact had come out at $2400 instead of $1400 it would still be selling well. This is as Gucci a sport as any other which involves men comparing the badassery of their toys.
If you've got an accurate rifle that is reliable, just get out and shoot/compete/etc.!
Don't waste time at work posting on SH dreaming of being at the range right now (like me).
