Not sure I got any good pictures… but was cool
To see!

Have to wait for card reader load tomorrow for the non-phone pix!

I just happened to wake up at 2:21am and figured I should go take a look. Perfect conditions and always cool to see a blood moon. Not the best, but I took some pics through my Vortex Razor spotting scope with iphone adapter. After standing there trying to capture pics for a while and getting cold I decided to chill in the hottub and listen to the owls for a while.

I’m expecting my pictures will be pretty blurry. Because well, really cool to see the blood moon is small and relatively dark. So most of my exposures were something like 30 seconds.

And things move a lot in 30 seconds when using a long lens. So I got some neat colors But nothing compared to what I would get of photographing the moon. That said I have everything still out tonight? I am going to take some actual moon pictures which should be pretty cool.

Waiting on a new computer to get here this afternoon so I have no way to read any cards currently. Damn old technology oh well at least I don’t have to develop the TRI-X anymore.

Though I do kind of miss that. Watching things appear out of the tray on a piece of blank photo paper was always magic. Someday, maybe I’ll set up my dark room again.

I set up a GoPro Timelapse to see if I could get it but the clouds were thick and I didn’t see anything when I got up at 2:30. Will have to check the GoPro later today to see if I actually did miss anything.

Update, reviewed the Timelapse and the clouds rolled through around 1am, too thick to see anything except a slight darkening of the clouds for a bit at the peak of the eclipse.

My picture was pathetic but the moon was reddish then the scattered clouds got thick.

I was up anyway off and on last nite. Impending fire shitstorm on the way has me on edge. Critical fire weather and 60 mph winds.

Looks to be 3 1/2 hours out maybe less.

North Texas here.
Station near me clocked 59mph gusts and we have 13 % relative humidity currently.
Blowing dust small tree limbs down, no smoke yet.
Dry line just passed.

Seams to have grounded a lot of flights, especially NASJRB in Fort Worth. (Carswell AFB)
