I have always had bolt guns. Now that I'm in the planning stages of an AR style precision gun, I had a thought about My cleaning equipment. I have never seen any kind of bore guide specifically for an AR. Is there one? Will My Remington one do in a pinch, or do I need to have one made?

Just thinking. I would find it difficult to believe that the precision gas guns out there get cleaned without one.

Later folks. Mac

Are bore guides really necessary? I have an AR on order and was wondering if this is a "must have". Ive a cleaned many a gun and never used a bore guide.

X2 for this guide. Its a delron guide and works great. You do not need a fancy aluminum guide with super expensive anodized coating, sorry.

Re: Bore guide for AR type weapons?

I tried to get a Lucas guide before Christmas and his time off before he could get to a guide for me was way too long.

I went plan B and bought a Possum Hollow bore guide from Midway USA. I've only used it twice, but it works great. It is about 1/2 the price of the Lucas product.

Oh yeah....DPMS LRT-SASS
