last summer i got a 2011 Bear Assault w/ all the goody's and set up to what i asked for off ebay for around $490 shipped ! that being said all the "goody's" that came with the bows are not the greatest but they will work until i up grade soon! as for the bow it's self i could not be happier !

Buy a Black Widow and forget about the training wheels. Really it is just a matter of what feels good to you. But as far as compounds go don't get anything with a brace height lower than 7" the lower the BH the more unforgiving they become. Speed is important but accuracy is far more so. My first Deer with a bow was killed with an old Bear White Tail Hunter at about 140fps.
