Brighter than hell small flashlights

Just curious where you are getting your facts about where are components are made? All the aluminum is machined in house, our reflectors and tailcaps as well machined in house. The anodizing is done by a local company. The aluminum is refilled every week by a distributor locally and without a lot of investigation I don't think it is coming from China. The glass I believe is produced in country. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that is manufactured outside the US is Seoul semiconductor led's are made in Korea. Led's though I don't even know if there is really a manufacturer in the US.

I just want to know where you got this info that you are posting about all our materials coming from China.

Thanks,

Chuck [/quote]

I originally posted about lights then some DB decided to make this an USA VS CHINA post. Not what I wanted but thats how it went. While I have you here lets go down the list as I see you missed several items I discussed.

For the record

Put a "USA" next to each item below that is 100% made here (including raw material).

O ring
Bezel
LED
Aluminum
Rubber end cap
Battery material (guts)
Anodizing material
Electronics components and assembled
Glass
Glass coating
Chargers

FYI none of my SF lights and I have 3 came with a " 100% Made in America" sticker.

So now you can set the record straight. Are they 100% American?

Why am I asking? Because I spent the last 20 years trying my best to buy American and sadly found out that even if its assembled here that the raw parts come from another country, usually China. Sorry about the way this thread went as I stated before its not what I wanted. I just came here to post about bright flashlights that were affordable and quality made.

While we are talking when is SF going to utilize the MCE, SSCP7, SST-50, SST-90 LED in an EDC light with a programmable UI?

If it is priced near $200 like the Jetbeam M2S 1000 Lumen programmable UI 18650 capable flashlight all the better.

Re: Brighter than hell small flashlights

Sounds like the OP doesnt support his country in an economic crisis....

And what good is 15 shitty flashlights when you only have 2 hands? and if shit was hitting the fan wouldnt you have your hands around a rifle, shotgun or pistol?

None of the companies you show off seem to offer a weaponlight or pistol light.....

How many times do your flashlights get you laid a week? You seem to know more about them then their tactical advantage and uses, which is what this site revolves around.

Re: Brighter than hell small flashlights

Let's not derail this thread. I have learned more in this thread about great flashlights so that I can make my own buying decisions than I have anywhere else. I don't like going to "flashlight forums" to get the intel. What kind of a tool obsesses about flashlights to the point that they are the end not the means? This is great info posted in this thread.

Thanks to everyone for their opinions.

Take my U2 SF light for example. I paid 325 plus tax. It uses ONLY expensive cr123 batteries (planned by SF so I have to buy more batteries). If you compare the Jetbeam RRT2 it has double the lumens at 240 and 3x the battery life at 3hrs max. I can use cr123, rcr123, 18650 or 16340 rechargables. The Lion cells from AW are protected so you dont have to worry about them going poof. The rrt2 cost about 100 compared to 325 and I dont have to use those expensive cr123 that last 35 minutes in a U2 on high.

My first 3 lights were surefire at a cost of over 700 dollars. One of my hunting buddies met me duck hunting one morning with a light that was 4x brighter then my u2 that I paid a fortune for. I decided to try one of those lights and have been sold ever since. They are great quality and I have never had one fail. If SF made an sst50 EDC (750 lumen) light for 200 or less I would buy it but they dont. All this nonsense about buying USA is great if people actually made something here. If anyone took the time to read what I wrote they would see that I tried to BUY USA for decades. Its pointless anymore. Even if you buy USA the components came from everywhere else. Its not my fault our companies and politicians sold us out. Blame them!

Re: Brighter than hell small flashlights

+ about a million on the SF customer service statement. Just yesterday I called SF CS with a problem, it went like this.

Me:
I own an M900A that I bought several years ago, it is on my M4 and works well. I bought an MP5 with a M900A on it, and it works well too. There is a problem tho, on the one I bought the battery access cap has an on/off switch that shuts off power to the entire unit, it prevents accidentally turning on the light. The one that came on the MP5 doesn't have this switch, so it accidentally comes on, and could come on when it's in the case. Can I buy that part?

CS...we don't sell that part

Me:
You mean if I lost that cap I couldn't buy another one?

CS...Whats your shipping address, we'll send you one.

Me: I don't want a free one, I want to buy a replacement for the M900A that came on my MP5.

CS..We don't sell that part, we'll send you one, it might be 2 or 3 weeks.

This is a $625 dollar vertical grip light, I bet that part if sold would be $100, they are sending it to me for free.

Pretty damn good customer service IMO

WTF are you talking about?! I support Surefire products.
I think its useless to have all these 1000 lumen flashlights that have a 2 or 3" bezel that cant even be fit onto a rifle.... Why would I want to pack around a huge light like that when a Surefire with work just fine. How many of those lights pictured have more then one use mode?

Im talking, strobe, IR illum, Red and Blue LEDs, visible laser.
Surefire does and some models cram all that into ONE LIGHT.
Their new weapons lights are 200 lumens AND a IR illuminator. Ill take those features over 100000000 lumens any day.
