Shot the first round and dialed it out. Shoot two more which were right where my poa was so I considered that zeroed. Then I decided I would see if it would track.. Needless to say it didn't. I checked my zero again to make sure it wasn't me and I was no long where my original zero was. Then I tried to rezero it and that didn't work either.. Moral of the story BSA vs. 308 = weird rattling noises and a non tracking scope. I think @ the most I would put this optic on would be a 22. Anyways it was worth a shot I called midway and they said they take care of shipping and all so it was worth a shot. Good day =)

BSA's worthlessness is well documented. I think it pretty much holds true that you get what you pay for.. also well documented. At least you are only out some time and not money.

It was worth a try. I have other lower end optics such as a Millet TRS-2 which I paid 309 shipped. That scope rocks for the price it's always sat on top of a 308 and never lost zero and to this day it continues to track.. Live and learn!

I'm not surprised it didn't hold up on a 308. Let us know how well they adhere to the warranty.

I bought one intending to only use it on a 10/22. I wanted a FFP Mil/Mil scope without a mildot reticle and didn't want to break the bank.

So far, seems to work just fine on the 10/22.

I don't care about the warranty, midway said after they received it they would give me a full return. Afterall I broke it in less than 24 hours lol

Glad I sent mine back to midway today. I hope you get your refund.

Re: BSA FFP vs. 308

Ok, I have a quick rant. Why is it that "recoil tests" around here are done with 308? Why is 308 considered recoil heavy? I am lost on this. I have much larger caliber rifles, that weigh less, without breaks, (I don't own a break), that have much more recoil. I just don't view the 308 as having much if any recoil. Heck one of my walking 375 H&Hs wears a burris fullfield 2. It has done just fine over the years with hundreds of rounds it. I shoot that rifle more than any other rifle I own, hands down. Anywho, this is by no means directed at the op. Just a pet peeve of mine at this site. I now return you to your normally scheduled programming.

Re: BSA FFP vs. 308

I don't think the .308 is considered recoil heavy. It's picked because it's the baseline caliber for most rifles. Also, most people own at least a .308, and not say a .375 or one of the Cheytac rounds. Therefore, because a lot more shooters have the .308, you will see more "recoil" test with a .308.

Re: BSA FFP vs. 308

Since you asked, I believe that you will find that most of us consider .308 to be a sort of a minimum caliber whose recoil a scope should take without any hint of a problem.

I further believe that any scope should take .308 level recoil AND GREATER on an 8-lb rifle, too, not only the 12-14 lb beasts that seem common these days.

Right on. I can understand that. I just see alot of guys here go on about the 308 like it has some kind of recoil. I get your point there though. Like I said, I'm not picking a fight, i just don't see the 308 as having much recoil at all.
