So I'm stuck between a tough choice, mostly because I've never bought scopes of this quality and haven't had the chance to compare them side by side. The ERS would be the 6-24x50 and the XRS 4.5-30x50. Anyone have experience with both of them in a comparison sense? They'll be tossed on my .308 to start, but eventually moved to my 6.5 creedmoor build when it's done.

Both will probably be in the G2 reticle...although I am debating on the Illuminated BTR Mil reticle on the ERS as well. You can suggest other scopes if you wish, but I don't think I'd be able to get them for the price I can get these new.

Edit: I'm looking at a $100 difference between these two scopes. I guess that would be helpful.

Both the ERS (3-21-50) and the XRS (4.5-30-50) are the next generation elite tacticals. Both models have 10 mil rev., zero stop, and neither are illuminated.
For the money, especially right now, they are the best scope on the market with the best warranty.

The ERS 3.5-21 is the one built off the HDMR. The 6-24 they list on their website as an ERS is not what most are referring to as the ERS. That is one of their models prior to the HDMR I believe.

I recently bought a ET35215GZA, which is the model # for the 34mm ERS 3.5-21x50 with the G2DMR reticle, anodized FDE instead of matte black. After shooting the 3.5-21 for a couple of weeks, I was impressed enough by the quality to plunk down the cash to get a ET6245FG, which is a 30mm scope also with the G2DMR reticle & mil knobs. It does say "ERS" on the box for this scope, but there's over $750 difference in dealer pricing between the two. To restate the obvious - the new 3.5-21x50 has a 34mm tube, locking knobs, zero stop, and 10 mils per revolution, while the 6-24x50 is built on a 30mm tube, doesn't have locking knobs nor zero stop, and is 5 mils per revolution.

Since I've only recently started paying attention to Bushnell's line-up, I don't know how long the ET6245FG has been on the market, but the 34mm ERS was announced at last year's SHOT, and so is still a fairly 'new' design. I've only had my 6-24x50 FG out to the range once since getting it mounted on my DTA SRS, and haven't really had a good chance to do a fair comparison in optical quality to that of the 34mm ERS. However, my 1st impression is that the 6-24's glass is no slouch where optical quality is concerned, appearing to be pretty close to that of the Sightron SIII 6-24x50s that I've previously had on several of my rifles. Guess how the Bushnell glass performs while I'm using these scopes is more important than anything else, but I can't help wanting to know the straight skinny on the optical quality of the glass Bushnell is using in both these scopes, specifically whether there's any difference between the glass used in the 30mm vs 34mm model lines.

I'd personally spring for a 3.5-21 DMR w/ G2 reticle for a smokin' deal somewhere. you're only giving up zero stops and the 10 Mil per Revolution of the Turret.

I've shot the 3.5x21 HDMR and own the 4.5 x30 XRS. As far as quality of glass, they are ALL phenomenal. But what really gets me liking the XRS is the eye relief. It's the really one of the best scopes I've ever owned. I do wish it had an illuminated reticle but I will live. Also at 30x , (during regular daylight) you don't have that kind of black overcast image you see in alot of scopes at high magnification.
Here is the XRS on 24x at 1,931 yards. It was a very muggy day with a lot of moisture in the air. Also it's not the best pic in the world but it shows just how effective these scopes are. This is 1.1 miles and the scope isn't even at full magnification. On a clear day it's unreal

The XRS has a smaller exit pupil and eye relief over the ERS... I think one of these will be going on my 300WM. They do look very nice for the price and everyone that has one seems to like them a lot.

I have a ET35215GZ(the ERS 3.5-21 in black) coming in the mail this week. how many mils does it have in elevation? I understand the .1 mil clicks and 10 mils per turn. I tried to google but didn't have much luck. Sorry to jack the thread but it roughly pertains
