Ok so I've been looking at the bushnell 6-24x50 tactical elite scopes but I haven't seen or heard anything on the illuminated brt-mil reticle, I really like the g2dmr but wanted to hear some opinions first. Thanks

Re: Bushnell Illuminated BRT-Mil

I have an Elite Tactical 6-24x50 FFP G2DMR.

The glass is pretty good, the turrets have a nice feel, and I like the G2DMR reticle. It tracks well, too. I think it offers a lot of value for the $$$, sort of like a little brother to the HDMR.

Mine only has 19 mils of elevation travel but with the right base it will get a .308 out to 1000 yards with ease.

The G2DMR model does not come with illumination, only the FFP mil-dot is offered that way, which you probably already figured out. I opted for the better reticle over illumination.

If all you want is a mil-dot then the illuminated FFP mil-dot is a good scope for the money.

The G2DMR is meant for providing accurate elevation and windage holdovers, not just ranging like a mil-dot. The ET series of scopes track well so if you plan to use the reticle for range estimation and single axis holdovers, say by dialing elevation and holding windage, then it's perfect for your needs especially if you need illumination.

I just started using an HDMR with the H59 reticle and it provides far more functionality than the G2DMR at the expense of visibility. The G2DMR seems like it can provide 80% of the usefulness of the H59 without information overload but as I use the H59 more I suspect it will become more transparent. I wish it had the thinner stadia lines of the G2DMR at the crosshairs, though, it's a bit thick at full magnification.

Point is if you are considering a reticle that includes windage and elevation holds, the G2DMR is a good choice to ease into it. If you haven't heard many opinions on it you're not looking very hard, as there is a lot of positive feedback about it. I'd try googling "G2DMR Reticle".

Sorry, I misunderstood you.

Re: Bushnell Illuminated BRT-Mil

I would say it comes down to your wants and needs.
btr vs g2dmr. i would say if illumination is a deal breaker then the btr will work for you. also if you think the g2 is "too busy" as some say (not me)then the btr would work for you. if you dial instead of holdover then the btr will work for you. also i think the btr is a great step up from a standard mil dot. i want to put the 3-12 btr on my spr. i think it will work great.
