Looking for feedback on this scope and it's durability, clarity and precision. Did a search and saw a couple of positive comments but looking for someone who has really tested it out. Getting into long range matches and thinking of using this scope dual purpose for matches and hunting. Thanks

Anyone? Most say the glass is on par with Nightforce and other top tier scopes. I have 3 nightforce scopes so am hoping it is on par in clarity and accuracy. Is 18x on top enough to be competitive at long range matches?

Have both the 3-12 and 4.5-18. On the latter the sweet spot for me is about 15-16x. After that the eyebox is not very forgiving.

Better glass than the couple of Vortex Viper PST GEN I they replaced. 10 mil turret is nice. Side capped windage too since I zero and then hold wind.

Compared this side by side with my Nightforce NXS 5.5-22 today and the glass is quite comparable. Will have to spend some time behind it to compare the tracking, etc. So far, I like it. For the money it seems like a great optic.

I have one on a Tikka CTR in 260. The glass is clearer than the Burris XTRII that my son has. I am considering another one or a LRSTi as the reticle in it is a little thinner. Can't go wrong with either one. I have used it hunting and at a handful of PRS matches. I have made hits out to 1400 with it and it is very repeatable and the zero stop is easy to set.

Great to see the positive feedback above. I've always put my faith in Nightforce, and have really been thinking about trying out one of these scopes too. Hopefully this question adds to the conversation and doesn't sidetrack the OP's intent:

Are low-light hunting scenarios going to be limited without illumination on the LRHS 4.5-18? (I had a ATACR 4-16F1, there were times I wouldn't have been able to make the shot without illumination)

How is the 3-12x's reticle on low power compared to the 4.5-18x? I have a 4.5-18x for my AR10 and find the reticle hard to see unless the illumination is on under 6x. thus, I am debating putting the 3-12x on my 20" .308 bolt I use for hunting under 600 yds.

Ends up pretty much as a duplex reticle at the lowest magnifications. Even the circle isn't super obvious at 3x.

That said, I don't run it at that magnification. Ever. It's pretty much fixed at 12 when I shoot.

I bought a 4.5-18 recently for a long range hunting rifle. I like the reticle and the glass is pretty good. Shooting at 800 yards on a hot day with a lot of mirage my Nxs and pst2 glass seemed to have a little better image quality. One thing I noticed on this optic is there is a little bit of slip in the elevation turret. When you dial it up or down there is about 1/2 a hash mark of movement before it moves 1 click. In other words if you dial up 5 minutes the hash mark on scope lines up with the 5 min mark on turret. If you dial past 5 min and then back down the hash mark Will be between 5 and 4.75 if that makes sense. Does anybody else have the same issue. Mine is going to go back th bushnell to see if they can correct this.

So, I take it that its more visible than the 4.5-18x at low power? Also, what distances are you running it out to? Thanks!

I've had both MOA & Mil versions of the 4.5-18 LRHS on hybrid hunting/comp rifles in 6XC. Liked them both a lot, although I haven't shot the newer mil scope that much yet. Most of my shooting with the newer rifle has been load testing at 600yds on steel in good light, so it's been set on 18x the whole time. I put them both in TPS TSR super-low rings, which works well with the Manners T3 stocks I had both rifles in.

I just called Bushnell to get a price on a couple of LRHS scopes and was informed that they have discontinued the line and the only one they still have any in stock on is the ELITE LONG RANGE HUNTER LRHSi 4.5-18x 44mm E45184HI

Doug,

Did those idiots say whether they are going to discontinue the LRTS also? Dang! Best long range hunting scope on the market and they quit making them!

I just spoke with Belton at Bushnell and he says they are releasing a replacement to the LRHS in June. He couldn’t tell me much about it but said it is supposed to be an upgrade from the LRHS. He said they will continue to produce the LRTS.
