Current rifle, love it. Just that damn Remington knob is so small and hard to manipulate.

Been looking at a badger or surgeon knob. Thought about the KRG but I've read some develop a wobble after awhile. Rifle is a 5r.

GAP = $95

Yeah but that would require me sending my rifle off, I'm hoping to have my local smith do the work.

Nah, Just your bolt!!! $5 for USPS Priority. And it'll be back to ya within a week!

For a brake, you'll need to send your barreled action to a gunsmith, as it is not threaded already... Or is it?

I have 2 APA brakes, and Badger FTE. I like the Badger but I love the APA Brakes. My vote is for APA. Jered does outstanding work. I also have a Tac-Ops bolt knob on my .308. If I was you I would try to get a Surgeon bolt knob. I like the tactical version. I am thinking of getting one and have it put on my 338.
